Anyone else terribly disappointed with SPx this year? I did a 16 box case. Admittedly, I may be a bit negative because my case was lackluster. Even so, the number of redemptions, design, content, etc... I give it a C- at best. Anyone else have an opinion on this one?
i have to admit i've been patiently waiting for this discussion to start,so thanks for the invitation to rant!
SPX is an utter disaster this year.after seeing multiple online breaks and a bunch more case/box breaks at the lcs,i cannot, for the life of me ,see wtf UD was thinking when they put this product together.from the terrible designs(those shift change cards with the giant blank area

) to the ridiculous empty windows on the RC/auto's.it's as if they couldn't be bothered to design a non jersey with auto rookie card.throw into the mix a bunch of "update" Trilogy and Artifacts and you have lost me completely. makes me think they are too busy with their Epack program to give a rats *** about putting any effort into a $100+ box staple product.
the last case at my lcs netted what i guess was a case hit,an Eichel Artifacts Sapphire rc #/85.yes,that was THE best card in the entire case, unless you consider 2 Shinkaruk rc/auto's and a Virtanen rc/auto and 4 O'Connor trilogy auto/rc's.
to be honest,UD seems to be doing everything in their power to push collectors like me away from collecting.between price increases, holding back product and imo the worst product i've seen in over 40 years of collecting(this years SPX).
i'm onto you Upper Deck,i know your M.O. by now.get an exclusive deal with a hot rookie class and then proceed to shaft your customers with watered down products.but i didn't fall or it in '05 and i sure as hell ain't fallin for it now. Bring on Final Vault please!
