Starquest Gold....

Yeah one of the nicest and rarest inserts out there.

I'm trying to find a Bure, but that is never going to pop up lol.

wowwww, that's crazy. I pulled a LeClair forever ago and sold it a couple years back for only $15 cause it had a small chip at the top of it. it was a sweet card though

Those are so crazy rare, im always looking for a Jagr. But I would never have to money for one. Awesome cards!!

Hehehe... Definitely tempting to sell my Messier when it hits over $200... wow. You still looking for one, Mike?

Matt

do these hold similar value?

I have had 3 now in my lifetime.. and considering we are a store - that speaks to just how rare these are.

A Sakic (sold for $180), a Bure (sold for $155) and last year a Koivu (sold for $125).

All 3 were obtained through our trade nights. Thinking back, I spent or traded $100 for each one.

I have never seen a Gretzky on ebay but think it would push the $500 range.

Wow to pay 2.2x (if in mint shape) of Beckett's BV is pretty crazy!
But nothing against the price of Jordan's dito, makes me a bit sick to think about it...for a "plain" /100 insert from a budget series like CC!

I passed on a Fleury for $30 when I first started going after all his cards... at the time I thought it was a better idea to buy a lot of lower end stuff instead :(

It is amusing to compare the prices for the Starquest Gold #/100 cards and the Prime Choice Reserve #/100 cards. Yes, it's a larger base set from which to choose from -- but for any specific player, the two cards are exactly the same in terms of scarcity. Yet (for example) there's a Samsonov Prime Choice Reserve sitting on ebay for a $3.99 BIN with no takers, while the last Starquest Gold #/100 of Samsonov cleared $50.

Yes, but the cards are much shinier... :p

Wow, that's insane! I do agree, those cards looks great (late 90's have the best design of any "era" IMO), but $220+ for a /100. Wow!
