Good afternoon group.I was just wondering what the feeling is about the starting price of ebay auctions.Just say I have a card that I want at least $50.00 for.Do you feel it is better to start the card at $49.99 and hope for the best.Or start it at $.99 and place a reserve on it at $50.00.I find that a lot of people bid on reserve auction just to say they have placed a bid.Because they are quite certain that their bid will not take the card.Just looking for other collectors opinions.Thanks,Winston.

I have started getting away from using Reserve Price Auctions since it tends to scare off a lot of bidders. If it's a high-end card, then I will just set the minimum bid at a price I'd be happy with if it only got one bid.

The only time I use reserve auctions now is when I want to keep my Buy-It-Now price active... without fear of somebody killing it with a minimum bid.

My opinion follows:

I hate reserve auctions. If you want a minimum price, just set your opening bid at that amount and let the cash fall where it may.
