I could be way off here, but I've been on the weirdest stretch of bad luck lately with some items I'm trying to buy. Maybe it's shill bidding, but for the most part it's on such stupid items at times that it's hard to believe that I could lose approx 25 auctions all by a buck or a few pennies.

Trying to add some goalie rc's to the collection, and I just throw out random bids on them. No research, but pretty sure the bids were high enough to win.

These are just a few of the low end things I need for the checklist, yet these, along with some Luongo's and others, all outbid the last few mins but pennies.

What are people seeing lately? I mean, honestly, I never lose an item by 5, 10 or 100 bucks, its always last second, by 1 little bid.

Maybe its a coincidence, but there has to be something to it. Thoughts??

A while ago I made a post about how hard it is to buy lately, and how I hated BIN or best offers. But looking through my purchase history it seems like the only cards I actually won lately were best offers. I bid healthy and still, outbid.

Seems like people are just outbidding you? With the incremental bid system, all it takes is one person bidding more than you and they'll win the item by 50 cents or a dollar, depending on how high the price of the auction is.

Cards are definitely selling for more lately, but I don't see anything here other than someone being willing to pay more for those particular items
