Well today I got in my brian boyle superlative auto jersey the gold version /10. I really don't wanna leave it in the loader its in. My question, Would it be dumb to move it to a magnetic holder? Heres some more info, it will never be for trade. Its my favorite card and the cornerstone of my whole PC. I see no downside in it but just wanna know if it really will matter much. ALL opinions welcomed.

I've done the same with mine. Since it's for your pc do what you want with it. I put everything in screw downs so I'd like everything to be uniform. I'm sure there are other collectors that would disagree but it all comes down to what you like or don't like.

I agree, I also like keeping my collection organized and stored the same way. I would have had that card in a magnetic holder before I even put it down if it was something I would be cherishing in my PC forever.

Well I have to say ,That card is a beaut. It's your card and if your not moving it then take it out and put it in the holder. The other side....If your going to move it down the road....don't. My view on it is I would keep it the way it was pulled(same for taking out the ITG cards from the becket slabs). I have to say ,I'm too traditional and would stay clear of it.

Like I said your card, your fun....do it. By the way do you think this guy has big potential?

Thanks! it was the best looking one i found! But it will never move, don't worry about that.

Yeah he has potential. He's 6'7", can play all 5 positions(hell maybe goalie too), has damned good speed for his size, hard to move off his feet, and just has a great hockey sense. He should play for the kings this year full time (i hope).

If you're keeping it... cool.
But I refuse to bid on any Superlative cards outside of their original holder

Yeah but doesnt really matter cause it will never be moved from my pc. And i dont get the logic of not buying superlative out of original holders

My theory as far as selling a card is - never say never. If you had asked me a year ago, I would have sworn up and down that I would never move my player collections - but I did.

As for why people might not want a Superlative card out of the holder - most people are suspicious of them. In most cases, they were probably removed for innocent reasons (as you did), but you can never be sure.

oh trust me. Boyle pc wont move. I love this guy too much.

But what about when your great-great-great grandson tries to dump the card on eBay when you are dead? Then the card is not 'original' and he probably wont get the opening bid of .99. LOL :D

I say do what YOU think is best and how YOU would like to view your card.

Here's my take.
I have a really sweet Gagner from this release and I never thought an ITG card would be one of my top 5 cards.
I thought about leaving it in the ugly ITG protective sleeve...for about 5 seconds.

Then I took it out and put it in a brand new magnetic case. Improved the quality of the card ten fold IMO.

Of course, were talking about a different player all-together here, but I say do the same if you feel it is the jewel of your collection.

i was considering taking some of the Sakic stuff out of the loaders and putting them in 1 touches, and then I saw this thread and just instantly did it :D

Haha. Glad I can post a useful thread!!!

TBH i think besides the fact that I want to protect the card, I moved it to a top loader cause its easier to take the card out and feel the swatch(which is friggin softtttttttt). I know it sounds weird but I tend to do it with some nice cards haha
