Looking for another reason to anticipate the upcoming ITG Superlative Hockey release? How about this: Over 100 cut signatures.

Superlative Hockey will feature the largest number of cut signatures in the history of hockey card products. Ripped directly from the pages of hockey history, The Enshrined insert cards feature cut signatures from members of hockey's greatest institution. These cards will surely be "a cut above the rest."

In total, there are more than 1,200 1/1 cards for the discriminating collector to pursue from the very limited print run of Superlative.

There are seven reasons to collect Superlative Hockey:
#1 Hard Signed Autographs
#2 No Redemptions
#3 All Memorabilia is Game-Used
#4 Loaded with 1/1's
#5 Over 100 Cut Signatures

I am getting a little bit excited about this product - I know there are the nay-sayers out there but I may take a shot at 1-4 boxes anyway and see what happens.

For some reason I am not excited at all about this years Cup production so maybe I will give that money over to Mr Price this year...I guess I have some time to make up my mind.
 
Cannot wait for a checklist for this product. You lads do the ripping and hopefully I will pick-up some International Legends on the secondary market. ;)
 
I gotta say, that looks like some sweet stuff, but I'm sure the price point is gonna be perverse.

still, I'm interested in seeing what you're guarenteed in a pack...

I imagine this stuff will be out for the spring expo? that would seem like a logical release date to me
 
It just keeps getting better, does anyone think there will be a base card set or just Memorabilia and Autographed cards??
 
There'll be a base set. Probably only one of the cards out of the seven though.

I'll be interested to see the cut sig list too. The price point is of interest, but only for discussion purposes. I can't afford to buy any myself regardless, so it really doesn't matter a whole lot.

seven card my guess is this will be a 1000.00 pack maybe no base cards just my guess

I love the look of what I've seen but this is way out of my league I'm :owned:
 
Chris I hope your right but with only 3000 packs ( thats what he said on the HI interview) I'm guessing higher then 499

The problem is, I think there's going to be a lot of polarity among collectors on this product (heck, there already is). This is going to be a huge hit or miss product both out of the gate and on the secondary market. The fact that a lot of people are adopting the "wait until the price point comes out" attitude indicates to me that there's not as much excitement for the product as there should be for one that is so highly touted. Much like ITG Ultimate and SprtKings, I suspect that this product may be met with quite a bit of indifference, regardless of price point. I for one like some of the cards that we are being shown, I just hope that unlike a commercial for the latest Lexus, we're not being shown the souped up version (ie: the cream of the crop), whereby everything else will be considered "lesser"...

I disagree, I would bet the product will be sold out within days of release (if not sooner), and majority of the 3000 packs ripped within 4 weeks of it hitting the street. This will be another case of the non-hockey gamblers shredding the heck out of it because the resale on the singles will make it worth the rip.

Sure, but Sport Kings was not a Hockey product. It was an all sport product and those very rarely go over huge no matter how nice the cards are. People don't realize what he game you in that product. Just the fact that he was able to get Pete Rose Gu and Autos in there is remarkable. No one else does that, even UD with all their money and lawyers won't touch Rose with a 10 foot pole.

Personally, I think the Sport Kings product was very well done and the cards were great, just not for everyone. Superlative will be a monster product and the high dollar gamblers will shred it, just the cards they have shown to date alone will make a lot of people with credit card room gamble on it even if they haven't watched a hockey game in their life.
 
This stuff is 10 ft pole material for me - I'm not in a position to be burning hundred dollar bills right now - nor is the stuff interesting enough for me to even look at it. Then again, I don't really collect GU pieces either - autos are more interesting to me, but what player in either ITGs or UDs stable is extremely tough to find in one form or another?
