So, I was just looking over the Canucks schedule for the upcoming season. As we all know, the Olympics are in Vancouver so that means a bit of extented road trip for the Canucks.

The Canucks last HOME game before the Olympics...Wed Jan. 27.

The NEXT home game....Saturday MARCH 13...lol. That's 14 road games in row. However, after that, they only have to leave their time zone ONCE for the remainder of the season, and that is to Edmonton.

Obviously most of the guys will be home throught the Olympic break, but no home games for about 6 weeks....ouch.

That bites for the Nucks, but I believe alot of teams are experiencing this. I believe the Oil had to start last season at like 13 games on the road or something like that.

But that sure is a long time for your team to be away from its fans.

I'm not digging the beginning of the Flyers schedule. 5 games in 9 nights, 5 days off, 1 game, 5 more days off, then back-to-back.

You have to take into account that the building will be needing to be prepped for the Olympics. It's not like they just reserve it for the 2 weeks of the events, there is majour prep work that goes into the facility before anything even starts.

Gillis indicated he was actually not too preturbed by this, as the epic road trip actually reduces the overall amount of travel for the Canucks this season. But yeah, if you're a Nucks fan that's a lot of time watching the TV instead of rocking down at GM Place.

It's one of those things that can either make or break a season - they do .500 or better during that swing and they are set - a big slump and they could be screwed. We'll see but as mentioned before, I think some teams would rather have one massive trip than a bunch of down and backs.
