Team Sets In the Minors

Hi gang!
I have a dumb question. I remember going to an OHL Sudbury Wolves game about 2 years ago and they gave out the team card sets for free. Do most teams, or do any do this still?? Is it worth my time to try and collect such things? Thanks!

most still do. Choice Marketing does for AHL, CHL by Extreme. Some teams do their own.

Hockeydb has a ton of people trading cards from team issues sets - or at least they did in 2009

I remember the WHL's Medicine Hat Tigers doing this slightly differently... you had to go to the local sponsors offices/garages/restaurants (whatever the establishment was) to pick up the cards. They also sold team sets at the shop. I think I picked up some Red Deer Rebels and Kootenay Ice ones too... I loved road trips!

Thanks guys! Although, I'm not sure what Hockeydb has to do with anything in regards to my question. lol It seems more or less the teams sets may be impossible to get, ahh well it was worth finding out now than trying and looking like a fool! lol

They have a card collectors forum on there - or at least they did at some point. Wound up with a few tougher junior cards through there.
