Thanks to UD and Karvin!

I, too, am glad that Karvin has taken the time to call collectors (me included) and attempt to rectify a redemption card nightmare. Just the outpouring of threads saying they have redemptions being filled/replaced is a good thing....it couldn't get worse, right? UD was losing touch with their customers. So give Karvin and Chad some credit for trying to help regain that "touch" with the collectors and let's hope UD has "seen the light" and can learn from their mistakes and turn the hobby around. It's not going to happened overnight, but it's a start. And one of the things I hoped they learned was to be honest with collectors. We know when we're being fed horse manure. I tell my kids that lying is the worst thing they can do to me. They break a vase in the house, don't tell me the neighbor kid did it. I will not think badly of someone who tells the truth. Works that way in business, too. You'll be surprised how many customers they will get back, if they just tell it like it is, instead of stringing us along until it gets to the state it is now.

Here's hoping that UD gets back on track...they're all the NHLPA hockey hobby has right now for awhile.... And I still enjoy this hobby. :)

Many of you here have already masterfully articulated my feelings overall, but I need to point out that Chad and Karvin deserve a kudos for sure, they are taking ownership of the problem and running with it.... not away from it. I worked for a pretty clueless telecom company which shall remain nameless *COUGH*Qwest*COUGH*... but I went in there every day and took the position that Ill be ****ed if Im not going to make a difference. These two guys deserve a pat on the back, and a big bonus. Though knowing UD, that big bonus is going to the "genius" who decided they should keep reducing swatch size on jersey cards....

It's nice to see the love fest going on but I am not sure why everyone is so excited. Maybe I am missing something but are we supposed to be overly excited to receive a redemption that is 40+ weeks past upper decks 12-16 weeks they state on the redemptions we all paid for? I realize most wrote off their cards as forgotten and never to be seen so I can see why some are happy but seriously all we are doing is getting the cards we paid for. Just a lot longer then we originally expected. UD hasn't really sent out many replacements yet, it would be interesting to see everyone's attitude after they have important cards discontinued and replaced. I am like everyone else and appreciate what 2 people are doing but it all comes down to getting your card you paid for, so they are doing a great thing by not running away from "operation oops" and putting in extra hours to get this done. But lets not forget the reason why this is happening, we are/were getting screwed, all they are doing is trying to get the cards we paid for back to us. So far since this all happened I received my phaneuf and eaves sp authentic rookies, am I excited? No not at all, I paid a premium for them the release week of sp authentic 6+ months ago, it would have been nice to get them within their 12-16 weeks. If I would have known this was going to happen I would have purchased them 8 months later when they went live and for a fraction of the price. I haven't noticed any of my redemptions changed to discontinued which is surprising since I still have a card thats 16+ months old now.

I may be on the wrong side of the fence but for some reason I cant seem to get excited about receiving a redemption that I originally purchased a year ago.

I think the title of the thread should be edited a little. UD deserves no thanks or praise. Sure Karvin and Chad should get some recognition for the work there putting in but it doesn't changed what has been going on for the past 2 years.

I actually understand why the title, the title was from Lionel because he was originally under the impression that all redemptions including his auto shields and others would be replaced and Karvin reached out to him explaining other wise. So no need to change the title, I will just take a backseat to the praising of UD for getting out the redemptions they owe us :)

After contact with UD I thought something good would come... Why do I continue to buy their products?? OOoooo yeah, the only game in town I can afford...

I don't know about all of this. I guess I will see what happens with some of the replacement cards first. If they are decent replacements I'm sure people will be happy. It could easily backfire on them as well though depending on what ends up being sent out..

Here's an idea.. How about for every replacement they send out an Ovechkin BD rookie card.. They seem to have enough of those to go around ;)

I am still hesitant about the entire situation. Heck I have an Ovechkin Rookie Redemption from 04/05 SPA redeemed early September last year that still has not shipped out to me. Thats almost 6 months for a card with no signature or memorabilia on it? There is no status on the card in my redemption list (probably because they can't use the waiting on player to sign, or auto's in house, expect delays reasoning?)

Im not thanking anyone yet .....my 3 reships that havent shown up yet and my nash auto thats still not here when hes had how many autos in other stuff already
