The Celtics breaking up?

If anyone read the Boston Globe today, Danny Ainge said that it might be time to rebuild the Celtics? WHOS THE FIRST TO GO! Predictions? Anyone?

My say is Mark Blount, the guy stinks. Period

Not this year. In the column it even said this is the only year in the last 3 that Pierce hasn't been rumored to be dealt. The first preseason game, TH and Gorman said he renovated himself and made himself alot more mature. It shows, he is bringing his game to a higher level. He even challenged Ricky Davis to lead the team.->Hoff
 
It's known that Pierce can be had & that he isn't untouchable. Granted, he's playing the best ball of his career but I wouldn't let someone like Ricky Davis lead a team.
 
It will be hard to find another 26.5 PPG 8 Rebound 4 assists clutch scorer who plays D to replace Pierce:) I think Rickys out of control play has made Danny Ainge scratch his head. He tries to play like a point guard granted he is averaging 20-5
 
I wouldn't call 24 points, 6 boards & 4 assists "nothing". He's never had a good team. KG hasn't done anything in Minneapolis either then? Or Nowitzki in Dallas?

At least KG and Dirk have had good regular seasons, just haven’t been able to do well in the playoffs. Pierce is a good player, a little bit of a ball hog but after 8 seasons it might be time to move along. If you can put him on a winning team he might do well. Some players just don’t work with some teams.
 
They could of started by keeping Pierce and Walker. If Walker did not demand a contract as Danny Ainge indicated in an interview I saw on NBA TV today, they could be better. They are a young team though. It will take time.

I don't see how that same argument doesn't go up for Garnett or Nowitzki. Who cares if thet have "good" regular seasons? They've never achieved anything with their team in the playoffs either. Pierce hasn't either, but to say he hasn't done anything since he got there is too much.
 
I guess I am kind of surprised by all this as I saw Boston play Detroit two tough games early in the season and would have won and should have one the first one at home if not for a buzzer beater by Hamilton. The second game at the Palace the Celtics more or less led for three quarters. I saw a lot of good things from that team including Marc Blount, I don't see em day in and day out so hard for me to judge. I hate to see teams rebuild mainly cause I have watched it happen many times with my teams here in Detroit over the course of the last thirty years they have all gone through it. If it does happen I would say yeah Paul Pierce goes but I would still hate to see it happen for all his has done on the court. I guess this is why Danny Ainge has to make these important decsions. If the Celtics Rebuild who is out first---I think it will be a package deal, three will go at once as first Celtics delt.
 
Pierce has lead us to 4 playoffs including the ECF's. Has been a team player since coming to the C's and like Casket said has averaged 24 PPG. Only the elite players in the league have a career average of 24 or more ppg./
