I must say, despite everyone's bracket being busted, these teams moving on will be tremendous for the growth of the game.

I look forward to seeing the playoff spotlight on players other than Crosby, Ovechkin, McDav.........ooops. But you know what I'm saying, right?

Lots of great young stars in this game, and some veterans still pushing to get The Cup. There is always some great story lines and I look forward to those as we head into Round 2.

Are any of you guys pulling for any player in particular to win The Cup? Or a certain team if yours is out?

I've never been a Leaf fan but since my dad is and most of my friends are I have found myself following them the most since Roy left the game.

My "favorite" team has been the Colorado. I followed Roy there in his playing days and have kept up with the team for the most part. Overall I just like to see good hockey and I wouldn't be upset to see Thornton get his cup.

I have no real ties to rest of the teams. Lots of younger talent which is great for the game though.

Out West I'd have to go with the local Avs as far as teams. I really enjoy watching all 3 guys on their top line, especially MacKinnon, his speed and stickhandles are on a level with McDavid. Yeah, I said that and it's true if you watch him.

I also like Jamie Benn, he's a good all around player, so I'll be watching him with Dallas.

In the East I'm pulling for the Canes as far as teams go. How can you not at this point?

Players I am watching out East? Have a soft spot for Big Z in Beantown, he's a great veteran I wouldn't mind seeing move on. I also like Mat Barzals game and will be watching him as well. The Matt Duchene storyline for the Jackets would be highly intriguing should they end up in the Cup Finals versus Colorado............

I am also a fan of Benn. He has been awesome when playing for Team Canada which is primarily where I have watched his game.

For some reason I just don't want to see BOS win. Maybe because some of them have a cup from the 2011 although I am sure many of the teams left have players who have won previously with other teams.

For me, rooting for Avs in the West, for no other reason than Tanguay played there, and I would love to see MacKinnon become the last of the big 3 NS boys bring home the Stanley Cup for a parade.

In the East, no question, rooting for the Islanders, mainly because of the fact that nobody had them even making the playoffs when JT brought his jammies and his bedsheets to chase his Stanley Cup dreams to Toronto (and I love anything that spites Leaf fans) as well as a great redemption story for Robin Lehner. Although, I admit I was hoping to see Trotz and Co. face off against Washington and be the team to put them out.

Washington looked so disinterested for long stretches of the series. It was disappointing to watch. But, watching OT last night I could tell they didn't have it in them to win. Oh well. There's always next year!

I guess I'd pull for an ex-Penguin..Jordan Staal is probably the biggest name player who use to play for the Pens(could be wrong). Overall I am not sure I care since the Pens were ousted so soon. Might have cheered for the Islanders if the Caps won but will cheer for the Canes(not really cheering against NYI like I usually would with teams that knock out the Pens....just haven't really got to the "hate" that Pens fans might have for Philly/Caps...maybe NYR)

Well, to be honest, I feel this year's Finals will be one of the lowest ever in terms of TV ratings. No Canadian teams left. Pens, Bolts, Caps all gone. If Boston gets through it might salvage some viewers, but overall I'm sure more sets will be turned off. Not must see TV by any stretch.

Dave.

Like to see a Team that has not won any Stanley Cup in this order

St. Louis Blues
Columbus Blue Jackets
San Jose Sharks

There's very few players left in the league that fall under "used to be great for Edmonton, would like to see him win" - That's really the only qualifier that's worked for me, to actively cheer for a team (other than Edmonton) in the playoffs.... i.e. I was happy with those Kings' victories.

So at this point, I think the only thing left to cheer for (for me) would be these two things:
1. My playoff pool
2. Cool stories, even if the after-effect will be kinda "meh" for me

(with #2... I think it would have been an amazing story, if Vegas had won last year. I also suspect I'd have stopped being excited by it a day later).

So for the sake of my pool: Go Sharks! I had them winning the whole thing.

Cool Stories:

Islanders lose their Captain & best player to Free Agency, but go onto win Championship!

Canes are a bunch of Jerks, win anyway. Don Cherry cries.

Columbus loads up at the deadline, knocks off Tampa, wins a Cup, then everyone leaves anyway

The Stars were called out by their owner.

The Blues were last place January 1st

I guess San Jose has the "cupless, old man" thing going for them.

The Islanders. Just because that is who the Mayor of Canada cheers for and I love seeing him happy.

I think i'm rooting for the Islanders, never really liked them as a team, having said that they have some good young guys Barzel is good to watch but mainly because the Caps didn't want to pay up for Trots and the Caps are out and Trots is in, would like to see him take what was a nothing team last year to the finals.
