The Cup or Certified?

Hey everyone, the last couple weeks I have been trying to figure out what to do here, I am either going to buy 2 Tins of The Cup, or 1 8 Box mini case of Certified, so basically I am asking for everyones opinion here, so, what should I do:

2 2009-10 The Cup tins

1 2010-11 Certified 8 box mini case

The Certified Hobby Master cases are 24 boxes so I am pretty sure that the mini cases are 12 boxes. Certified is a little bit of a crapshoot if you ask me... I have not seen an autograph checklist and I'm not sure what kind of RC "value" there will be. Also, the GU parallels will not command much as far as resale value IMHO. You pretty much know what to expect from The Cup. Personally I am gonna rip both of em. My $.02. Mike

For resale go with The Cup

For fun go with Certified

You are right on the 24 box case but it has 3 8 box cases in it. I saw the 8 box case on dacardworld

I think I'll need to adjust my order then... I had placed a 12 box preorder figuring it was a "mini case". If the folks at D & A are correct I may need to order 16 instead... Thanks for the info.:beer:

I am personally going to go with certified, I like to open packs so opening the 80 packs of certified was a easy choice for me.

Hard question if you need resale value, because we really don't know how good those certified cards gonna sell in bay. It's a mystery for a while.. Lot of set collector's?

You can't go wrong with the Cup or Certified... both will provide great hits and lots of excitement!

As long as I can get some stuff sold, I'm planning on doing my first tin of the Cup and a mini 8 box case of Certified.

As for the Certified, if you get the sealed mini case, according to what I've been able to find, you are guaranteed a platinum hot box were all the cards are parallels (so should be good for the resale to player collectors especially if you pull some really low numbered ones) and 2 10/11 Auto Jersey Rookie Redemptions. Those could be huge if you end up with Hall or Seguin. And after doing a little searching around for those wanting to know what to expect, in the 8 box case breaks of Certified football I found, seem like they average about 14 autos and 7 patches. So pretty good amount of hits besides just regular jerseys and paralleled ones. Then again, not sure if this is going to hold true with hockey.

So it all depends on what you're looking to get out of this purchase.

I hope you're just talking about the parallels. Because to me, I'd much rather have on-card rookie autos from the end of the year class (even in parallel form) and rookie auto/jersey redemption for the new class all day instead of "mild card" redemptions and more sticker Autocraps of Bob Bourne, Mark Fistric, Tom Sestito, etc.

I will probably end up going with The Cup, there should be more pictures released of the cup this week, says upper deck on their Facebook page, so, will probably make a final decision this week I would say, thanks to everyone who posted here.
