The Cup or Superlative 3?

Sorry for being stupid and uninformed but what does Superlative Vol. 3 have in it? I am totally ignorant when it comes to ITG. If I have a few extra hundred bucks, what do you suggest I get, a box of The Cup or Superlative 3?
 
Cup would be my choice.

Not a huge fan of Superlative personally. I don't like that the cards are in those holders with stickers. If you take the card out of the holder or if the sticker breaks (which I've had happen), the card is deemed to be worth much less.

Superlative delivers huge value this year, have yet to see a dud box. The Cup is extremely hit or miss.
 
Take a look at the check lists for each product. See which one offers more of what you are looking for.

For me if I could afford it, Superlative.
 
hmm good question. Personally I would do superlative. It seems to be more of a fun break in my opinion. I didnt open any cup this year.. but there is some gold in there. I would like to suggest Dominion or Prime as well. Prime is probably my favorite set of the year.
 
I vote The Cup but Superlative looks great and has the best designs ITG has put out in a long time.
 
It all depends on what you're looking for. The Cup offers ARPs and autos of Gretzky and Crosby which Superlative does not. However, Superlative offers unique memorabilia cards, new Skate Laces and hard signed autos of many great players

My opinion is Superlative is a safer bet but if you're looking to gamble for a home run, Cup might be better suited for you
 
If you were after a case, I would have said the Cup but since your after a box, I would go with Superlative. Also, since it's pretty new, if you get it now and plan on re selling/trading some cards, I would think the demand would be high.
 
Superlative gets my vote every time, especially this year as the designs are nice and colorful. This is the nicest looking Superlative yet and patch selection has been phenomenal as well. I wish my PC player had more cards this year to take advantage of the nice designs.
 
Most important question is what are you looking for. If you are looking for rookie cards The Cup is better choice for you. Big factor is also the price. I would never take The Cup for the price over 500 usd. They were on sale last friday for 380 so I grabbed for the first time 1 thin. Guess it will be for last time also, but once in my life I wanted to open them.

But all together I think that Superlative brings more value. The Cup is really a hit or miss product. Simply you cant go wrong with Superlative. I opened 1 book of version 2 and I was very pleased with 5 out of 7 cards. With The Cup and Dominion you actually hope that 1 cards can save your money.

If you are looking for secondary market, rookies...The Cup


For me its not a decision, The Cup destroys Superlative..I saw dozens of cases broke of Superlative, its alright, some nice pieces...but no value unfortunately.
 
Do you mean that Superlative has no value on the secondary market? From the posts here, it seems that The Cup is very hit or miss and Superlative is more bang for your buck. Am I wrong?
 
i would go with superlative, the cup like others said is very hit or miss, superlative at least all the cards are of established players ( most of them in the hof) except the prospects autos. so far its my favorite product of the last year along with prime and titanium
