The Cup tin sales

I get there are differences but my ultimate point is directed at the shop owners who believe the way of the world -- the only way -- is their way. Dornhoffer (and me) is saying that it's not the only model.

Yep, I would agree with that. I've seen it work both ways at different places, with general success across the board. Definitely not a one-size-fits-all proposition.

But here is the real kicker (and I tell people this all the time). When I use my money to buy product, I mark up to my magic number. You pre-order a product - I am buying it with your money. No risk of it sitting.. It is a guarenteed sale. You want to save on products - pre-order. I can offer you terrific prices on pre-orders because i am using your money to buy the product. ZERO risks for me. It is already sold. I don't need +$100. +$30 is fine by me. I make $180 with your money. You saved $420. We are both happy!!! and my distributor is happy because I ordered an additional case over my regular order.

Now, like you, I am not really a business man so sometimes my thinking is a little off-side but if you are thinking about the $180 as a business person, you missed the real opportunity.

The fact your customer saved $420 is the real bonus as now you have a person happy with you and your store. They create a buzz in your store. They bust product in your store - which creates more of a buzz. That is what really matters. Make friends - and keep them.

I am only speaking for SSC.

Are you taking pre-orders on single boxes in the 100$ range?

Dornhoffer & reoddia - it was enjoyable debating with you. Thanks for the opportunity to tell you what we found works for our little store - which is the only store we are talking for.

Dominion is out Friday - The Cup will be all but forgotten in a few hours.
