I can't say I've ever seen something like this before. The bit about Upshall and McKenzie trying to volunteer to play goal :crazy:

Thoughts on the whole situation? It's never a good thing when someone gets injured, but in this case, I couldn't help but laugh a little bit. When was the last time anyone saw a goalie coach in full gear?

It was crazy to be sure. I don't think Upshall or MKenzie were serious candidates though... they were just trying to stall for time. Luongo probably wasn't hurt that bad (took a shot to the side of the head) so they decided to give him the rest of the night off... maybe related to concussion protocol... but he was the logical choice to come back in after that.

Maybe it took so long because he was in the bathroom between periods... it's happened before!

last time it happened was with same goalie coach robbie tallas, 2013 when markstrom's pads got lost in the plane transit on the night he got called up from san antonio to florida, Tallas suited up as back-up and finally the pads showed up before the game even ended..

ps I would pick mackenzie over upshall for goalie, he must have average of 3 blocked shots a game as a forward..
