And nowhere near being done.

One mod opened up an enormous can of worms, the other mods need to let that **** run.

If people want to **** on Chris, he's gotta be open to it because he started the thread. Beckett turned to **** because the mods were closing everything. A major topic was at hand that was just shut down when the conversation was definitely not finished.

Although I don't think this thread will last much longer either I have to agree with the general point of it.

It seems that lately threads around here get locked all too quickly. I followed that ITG thread, read most of the replies and I honestly felt it was a solid conversation among grown up collectors. There wasn't much colourful language or insults flying around. Let it run. Why close it down?

To which Mod are you referring to that started the Thread?

My point in closing it as Bruce agreed to was that the points were all made for boths sides of the argument..

My concern, was that after reading the entire thread objectively. Was that there was devolving content as UD was being brought into. The Thread's main focus was to re-hash the North of 7 eBay seller and the reasons how their auctions and the like never had base card set's or for that matter single coloured swatches.

The thing that I find humorous is that this type of betrayal to collectors is nowhere near as prevalent in other sports as it is in Hockey, and Hockey seems to have a greater following of high end buyers that CONSISTENTLY put those big dollars out there.

Granted there are baseball player collectors that pour ridiculous sums of cash into their passion, I have never heard about companies "backdooring" product into the hands of private sellers. I supposed it could be that its a better kept secret, but I also think it might have to do with the fact that us baseball collectors have far more options of product to buy than you Ice Geared Folks. When something walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, theres a pretty good shot its a duck, until it comes to these companies...seems like a lot of identical ducks with the exact same quack makes their way around pretty frequently.

One of the prime reasons that I got out of hockey when I did. I like knowing that I honestly have a shot at hitting a majority of the good stuff that is possible in a baseball box.

Some insults and insinuations were being made without fact. That's called "libel" and since each of you are hidden behind screen names, I need to cover my butt from anything that could detrimentally hurt both this site and my business.

and before this thread gets into the same deep waters, it's closed.

Guys, I'm not trying to be a thread-nazi here, but this discussion has been had over and over and over again. As I've said before, you can't beat a horse to dust and then continue to beating it. Enough already.
