Yay..Yay after about three year absence....im heading back home, headin to the show on saturday, then hitting the ACC for the game that night!!!.......Now i just need to find the cash to front this adventure.....
 
I plan to make the flight to be there for Friday and Saturday for sure. I really want to check out the HHOF and would also love to go to Gretzky's Restaurant if I can find a few fellow members that are game for some food & drinkage on Saturday night ! ;)

Anyone have any recommendation's on the best hotel for relative closeness but still 3-4 stars?

Just throwin' this out there. Saturday night is usually reserved for wobbly pops at Arizona's. Generally we get a pretty solid crowd that shows up that night. Just giving you another option if you aren't able to plan something. The countdown is on.

That be the plan... but we are NOT ordering ANY trays of shooters this time... none... not one... stick to the beer & mixed drinks.

I fly in Thursday afternoon and fly out Sunday night. The HobbyInsider / Insider's Edge booth will be set up at the show for members to drop by, say hi and introduce yourselves, hang out, crack wax, etc. We are usually across from the ITG booth and have asked to be there again this year. I'm working on getting some lanyards with the HI logo and username/first name on there so we can find each other through the event.

Also, if anyone is around Thursday evening, we usually get together for a pre-Expo dinner at the Lonestar restaurant on Airport Road (right beside the Quality Suites on the corner of Carlingivew/Airport). I'll start a separate thread about that.

I am coming in from Colorado for my first Expo. Looking for a few Bernie Nicholls cards and hoping this is the place to find them. Just heard from Dr. Price that Nicholls has cards in UM10 so I am pretty excited about that. If you have or know of anyone with low numbered nicholls cards, please let me know and I will stop by and see them.

Biggest wants are Masterpiece Black Brushstrokes and Frozen Artifacts 1/1's.

A couple (or a bunch, not sure) of us are staying at the Quality Suites Carlingview. There's a promo code on the expo website so you get a room (if it's anything like the description, a nice room) for $102 a night.

Just had some fun on Hotwire booking my room.

I spent a couple hours looking at various hotels in the area, trying to find the right combination of value and amenities. There were a few I liked but I was drawn the most to the new-ish Hilton Garden Inn just a bit southeast of the International Centre. However, I had some trouble justifying a price of around $100 a night when there was a three-star option with the amenities I wanted for just $55 on Hotwire. Usually I'll take the peace of mind over the roll of the dice, but a three-night savings totaling around $150 was too good to pass up.

So I took the chance. Got nervous when I submit the credit card number and held my breath.

And up pops the end result -- a room booked at the Hilton Garden Inn! :D I got a nice laugh out of that (and a slight sense of relief, too).

I'm posting this partly on behalf of my own amusement, but also because it's a heck of a deal and might interest someone else...
 
Well, AllStarCollectors.com will be there again. We are at 401,402 which is 3rd aisle near the back. We are going to have another free contest giveaway. Flying into Buffalo on Thursday Evening. Driving up to Toronto with my mom on Friday. We will be at the show on Friday and then she is doing a Niagra Falls Excursion on Saturday while I fly solo at the show. Driving back down to Buffalo on Saturday night and flying out on Sunday. Should be jammed pack and full of adventure...and Tim Hortons.
