note: I realize this should go in the Contests section but I want to try and get as many people on HI to see this.


I was the recent recipient of a few great looking cards by Kris (NoFinerMiner37) as a result of his recent contest. Thanks very much for the cards. It was cool to see somebody selflessly send off cards "just because".

As a result of that contest (and "just because"), I am going to hold a quick, simple, painless contest. It's gonna to be a simple one....

You are also invited to mention a person you have traded with or bought from or met who is just a "good person" in this hobby and someone who makes collecting that much more enjoyable.

The contest will run until the final horn (or final shootout goal) of the late game on Hockey Night In Canada (Minnesota vs. Calgary) on Saturday, Feb. 23.

Now on to the prize.....

There will be one winner (to be chosen via Random.org......3rd time) and he/she will receive...(it's so tough to figure out what people like, so I'm going with a good mixed bag IMO)

One rookie card of a current star
One vintage rookie card of a Hall of Famer (and I think looks to be in really nice shape)
One hard-signed autograph card of a current star
One hard-signed autograph of a Hall of Famer
One jersey card of a current star
One patch card numbered to 25
One parallel card numbered to 25
One stick card
One glove card
One Trevor Linden card (just cuz he's my guy)

So that's 10 cards altogether.

I am posting this contest on HI as well as my blog and I would appreciate it if only one entry per person.

I will do my best to record the Random.org thing (as I've never done it before) but if I can't, then I will make sure the random occurs in front of a reputable witness.

Thanks for the contest and I would like to give kudos to Suitman19 (Bruce). Great guy to trade with, fellow Wings fan, and one of the guys that has made trading fun over the years. If everyone in this hobby had half the friendliness that Bruce did, it would be 10x more enjoyable.
 
i've made a few good friends on this site...steve (quincy), art (hama), and ryan (johnnydrama). if i am not on here chatting with them, i'm on facebook with them.
 
I would like to offer up Al- Uhtred the Viking.

Sent me a care package of Flames goodies for my sons. I have had the pleaseure of meeting Al and seeing some of his pc. A great guy all round and a credit to the Hobby.
 
Awesome...I need some nice luck like that as Ive had to cut back tremendously to basically ZERO since I was let go of my position....Ive done work with Ameet (99Goals) on many occasions. Great person and great dealing with.

And on a related note, let it not be forgotten that Eugene (arashikag3) himself contributes immensely to the chatroom by posting lovely links on a daily basis. He's a top guy.
 
Gabbyguy(Curt) has been a great guy to deal with and a credit to the hobby and im gonna give a shout out to LSOH(Eli) as well

I have been away for far too long to have anyone recent. You can pick any of the guys and gals I used to trade with in my feedback. I think I have noticed a few name changes. A fickle bunch they are. LOL
