Howdy all... well, for the past couple of weeks, I was searching for an Ovechkin 2 clr Auto Patch /199 from Hot Prospects to finalize a trade.

The trade was my biggest yet.... worth about $1200+!! Yes i know, it was a monster. The card arrived earlier than expected... so here we go :D

Dont really care if I got ripped off or not in this trade, I like the card and thats all that really matters... Although, I paid around $700US for all the Hot Prospects Auto Patches I listed, and personally, Im am almost 100% i can get more than that for it. (case in point: the triple of Selanne/Ovy/Kovy that went for $500)


Not sure what im going to do with it yet.... kind of want to show it off, so the next 10 Cent or Free Listing day, i will list the card at something ridiculous like $10K... might also slap a Best Offer option on there, as Im curious as to what some people would be willing to pay for it... any guesses???




Concerns, Questions, and "what the hell were you thinking", or hopefully more of, "you made out like a bandit!" comments are welcome :D

Yup....I almost killed him when he put my PC items (the hot prospects patches) on the trading block...and after careful consideration, and 3 people holding me back from Dave ;)...i decided...hell...let him try to make this happen!
Have to congratulate ya on the nice trade bro... didnt think you were going to do it (i.e. find that ovy for as cheap as u did anyways)! ;)

It was a no-brainer until I saw that you gave up the Ovy patch/auto. I think I'd rather have that one alone than the triple patch.

Yes, I meant to say that. If you're happy then that's all that matters. Don't get me wrong, the triple patch is a very, very, very nice card. I happen to be high on the Hot Prospects set so my opinion is skewed. :)

thanks for the replies... ya, it was a shame to give up all the patches for it, but since the trade i have been buying a lot of them on eBay and have almost all of them back already (except the ovechkin).

But like you guys mentioned, im happy with the trade and thats all that really matters :D

HOLY POOP!! At first one would think you gave up too much for it, but looking at the names and the print run. EEKS. I heard there are only a total of 60 of the triple patches in the entire set and you have one of the best one's..SICK!

Nice card. I think if your happy you got a good deal. the AO is real nice, but really the others are of guys that will never be stars and you will probably be able to pickup for less later.
 
Let's be real hear. With that sweet looking triple patch he could get three to possibly ten Ovechkin auto/patch easy. Dave, Congrats on pulling the trigger.

Very, very, very nice my friend. You are the new proud owner of a card that only four other people may ever have and it is a beauty. I'm guessing you're going to be paying your brother off for quite some time. Good to see the card is in good hands.

Wow, thats an amazing card! I think you did just fine in the trade... It all comes down to what you like more... I love that ovechkin Hot Prospects but the card you got is waaaay better and much harder to find... Congrats!

I think you did well.

Theres the old adage, the person with the best card in the trade ends up winning the trade. All those Hot Prospect patches are replaceable... heck even the Ovy is replaceable... you can definitely pick one up at almost any time if you look hard enough. That patch won't come around again probably!

Amazing addition, shes real purty and like you said, it makes you happy.

I normally do eBay business with my brother on his eBay account... but new sellers get 5 free listings this week, so i opened my own account and put the card on the bay... and just like I said, started it $10,000, hahah....
Before the ebay browsers say, "wtf?? whatta moron", i hope they read the descirption, where i tried to make it clear that im not actually looking to sell it, just show it off a bit :D
