Had some nice Keys show up in my mail box lately...

Please excuse the terrible iphone pic on this one. Saga is being dubbed as the next "Walking Dead" by quite a few comic fans. Here's hoping as this is the RRP out of only 500!

Been absolutely shocked what this has been selling for... it's less than a year old and #1 is already in the ~$250 range! Crazy!

:whatthehell:

Thanks for lurking! :)

Amazing stuff! Out of curiosity, I looked up some of the prices of these titles myself....:whatthehell:

Are you f&*(ing kidding me? For a book that you can't even read?

I sort of equate it to buying expensive artwork personally. If you hang them on the wall(somehow, I don't know how it's done) it's similar to hanging up a painting IMO.

That's what reprints and trade paperbacks are for :D

But seriously, it's like oilfan10 said... these KEY comics are essentially pieces of art. Hell they are essentially history. They span generations and countries... and are in such high demand, that no price surprises me.

Wanna see some sick stuff? Check out the realized prices of some of the books here:

Insane.

Absolutely beautiful pieces you got there. I myself am a lover of comics for 3 reasons

-great reads
-Beautiful artwork
-Fond childhood memories

I wish I could collect, but for my condition standards. It's just to expensive a hobby for me to dive into lol. For now I stick with my cheap readers at my LCS and my Archie/Jughead comics...and hockey cards lol

Yeah condition is a toughie... considering there are some CGC 2.0's out there that get thousands, it's understandable if someone's hesitant dropping that kind of coin on a "beat up" copy.

At the end of the day, there are quite a few beautiful comics that have lower grades, but present really well. If you're interested in Key comics at high grades, than yeah, you're talking 5 to 6 figures each. Not many people can do that. But if you're okay with mid-graders (4-0 to 7.5 kinda deal) then you can amass a pretty sick collection, that still present really well and look great that won't make you sell your house lol

I think I can get use to the latter option because I'd like to have a roof over my head lmfao. I think I just have to channel my inner child. I remember when I was around 6 or 7 years old I went to my local 99 cent store and they had an Iron Man comic with no front or back covers and small tears everywhere and I brought it and read that baby countless times. I think it was about spores but once I threw it out many years ago, I could never find it again.

Congrats on the cool additions. I sold my WD #1 back a few years ago for $300 sort of regret it but I bought it for cover price so good return lol.

I never read any of the Saga or Peter Panzerfaust comics, are they any good?

Like a graded card you can't read it lol. Seriously though its an awesome story that got a huge cult following and now a hit tv series. To add to that there is only somewhere between 5000-7000 #1's printed it is very scarce and only the hard cores originally bought these.

That Spiderman jumped out at me - not into comics anymore but I certainly remember many a roadtrip when I was a kid with Kraven hunting down Spiderman in the back of our conversion van - awesome!
Thanks for sharing!
