The White Envelope thread!

I got today white envelope all the way from Cornwall, Canada. The card is ok, in toploader, it's not very expensive card (I paid 2.35 USD) and shipping cost was wonderful (2.00 USD) so I can't say I'm disappointed.

But anyway, the seller goes with name happybear123 in eBay.

I want to emphasize that I'm happy about the price and shipment

white envelope alert from the bay.......pictouland.

Card was in a top loader which was nice but still arrived in the dreaded white envelope

Three sellers in the space of a week or so mailed in plain white envelopes:
zamboni_collectibles-paid 4.50 for shipping, card arrives in a plain white envelope postmarked 3 weeks after the date payment was sent
collectamania-canada - Three card lot all stuffed in a single penny sleeve sans top loader and mailed in a plain white envelope
pete$lp - seven cards in penny sleeves taped to a notecard in a plain white envelope

I got today white envelope all the way from Glendale, California, USA. The cards (or actually card and Topps Puck Attax disc, anyway) are in great condition and they were in toploaders, items were not very expensive (I paid a total of 2.54 USD) and shipping cost was very good (3.00 USD) so I can't say I'm disappointed.

Items arrived in a week and that's very typical delivery time.

But anyway, the seller goes with name hockeykings in eBay.

I want to emphasize that I'm happy about the price and shipment

If the cards are sent in a white envelope, the shipping costs should be low and this type of shipping should be announced/forewarned in the listing or policy by the seller.

Well, the bad is the lack of protection (if it's not obvious). If the seller charges too much for shipping for sending a white envelope, there's a problem already. Know an eBay seller that charges $3.75 USD for shipping within Canada via white envelope (for a single card in a 35pt toploader + single 54 cent stamp). SellerID in this case is 7bottomsup

In some cases, the problem is due to ignorance to such faux paus, so communication with the seller in such instances can help the situation on possible future sales (by correcting the problems). And then there are those shippers that never learn...

There is still the occasional seller out there (within Canada) that does not know the postal guidelines (especially the 20mm limit).

We have a new one...bugdud...guy has 3851 100% feedback, but my Gustavsson MVP Gold Script came in a plain white envelope in a toploader.

$3.00USD paid for shipping and it had a $0.58 Canadian stamp on it.

Sorry, not what I signed up for.

Kev

PS positive left with 2/5 stars for shipping charges (you then get to state why)

a guy on the sportscardforum called NT_cards, a doughty 1/1 sp game used came in a white envelop and a thinnnn case...I was rattled.

2 in one week for me - eBay seller jolanhlaugust13 - bought a Gustavsson Panini sticker - cheap enough card, but paid $2.99 USD for a white envelope that had a $0.58 stamp on it...

Plain White Envelope shipper (first in over 2 years!):

mikej9351

$3.25 shipping Canada to US, and a creased rare rookie auto jersey #/35 - STEAMED!

Email sent - I am sure with his 100% rating (260) he will tell me that it is the first damaged card!!

here is another one.. isaacip.. Paid 5.00 for shipping I really wanted the card and it was shipped between a piece of cardboard in a top loader.

I got today another white envelope, with Joe Sakic's Topps RC in it. The card was in top loader (before I put it to my folder), in great condition and s/h price was excellent 1.50USD - I don't know if I've ever seen that low s/h!

Item arrived in two weeks and that's pretty good delivery time considering it's Christmas time.

But anyway, the seller goes with name rockfest08 in eBay.

I want to emphasize that I'm happy about the price and shipment[/QUOTE]

Let me start by saying that if the price is reasonable and the card is protected, I don't mind getting white envelopes.

That being said, I will contribute to the ongoing list of shippers who do this.

Mikhail Grabovski SPA RC - No condition issues - $1 Shipping.
eBay Seller: kalu3862 - NOTE: he gave me the option of white envelope and bubble mailer, there was a $1.55 difference in price and since this was not a high end transaction I chose the cheaper route!

I received one today. The card was a Marc-Andre Fleury Gold Script MVP from this years set. The card arrived in good shape but its just the fact of the white envelope. Ebay user ID: 99noah99. Didn't mention anything in posting but $1.50 for a 44 cent stamp, would've at least wanted to see something in the listing about it. But I am glad my card arrived safely so I'm not too disappointed.

Here's my first white envelope for the New Year....

ebay seller: blackwidowcanada

Shipping rates were $2.75 for the first card and 0.75 for each additional.
I purchased two cards, one of them being a rare rookie.
Although they were shipped in toploaders and arrived undamaged (thankfully), I'm not thrilled about their shipping practices!!!

Two great white envelopes received recently. Neither damaged.

First, from patjay33. $3.50 for shipping, and claimed that he ships in a PWE because it's "more safe," and because gas is now $1.20 a liter and car insurance and he has been off of work for the last year or so. And what part of that is my, as the buyer, problem?

Second from duckblind2. Only charged $1.75, but didn't even ship in a top loader. Thankfully it wasn't damaged.

I'd stay away from both of these guys if I were you.
