The White Envelope thread!

I have gotten a couple in whites. I was very luck on all counts. Cards were sound and fine.

I just got a Parise hand signed SPA base card in a pwe. Guess what? Big deal. This thread isn't telling the whole story unless you guys inform the masses with details like was it a 1 of 1 patch auto in there or a 1990-91 no name Score base card???

Do some of you guys really need a penny sleeve, loader, team bag, bubble mailer every time?

If your card got there safely, and it isn't a card that contains game worn anything, then it is moot.

Really? It is a big deal when you get charged $3.50 for shipping and you get an item in an envelope with a .44 cent stamp on it. Maybe you enjoy being gouged like that, but most people do not appreciate it.

Ya know what? I typed in a hurry to get out the door this morning. No, I don't like being gouged. It is all relative.

It would be nice if the posters here detailed the "to and from," postal cost, and card.

3.50 for any card in a pwe? Not cool.

Free shipping for a nice uncommon 20.00 two color jersey swatch in a pwe? NOT COOL!

Up to 2.00 for a common Johnny Hockey Player to complete a set? Acceptable.

Ya get me chief? It's all relative.

For anyone to post "Gee whiz! Gotta pwe today! Here's the seller, -------." without any other info, is weak at best. There just may be a seller or two that ships properly when appropriate--sleeve, load, bubble, but will on occasion, ship in a pwe when it is OK, that is getting their names dirtied here.
And no, I don't pwe.

I think if all members sold on eBay and experienced their wonderful fee structure, they would have a slightly different point of view. You as the buyer cannot assume the bubble mailer on any purchase, unless you feel his feedback ratings gives you a decent indication and so on and so on.

A perfect example of what I mean is that listing for the 1.25 card with 1.00 or FREE shipping. Those 9 times out of 10 will come in the dreaded pwe.

Received a PWE today from ebay seller frankies33.

Bought 2 cards (both Panini Immortals Mirror Red /250....one for the PC). Cards were in penny sleeves and both shoved in a toploader....which ended up being too big and the cards slid out the top. One of the cards has damage to the top.

It was $2 for shipping costs. $3 to the US.

He has not yet responded to my e-mail.

Disappointed to say the least.

Damaged card received from White Envelopes

Hi guys,

I have received my second card this month alone that has been damaged with creases on it, and both were shipped with a white envelope from ebay sellers. What actions can I take with the seller? Any past experiences and how did you guys solve the issue?

Thanks

first i would try contacting the seller and ask for a refund if that doesnt get you anywhere you can leave a neg and try filing a dispute with paypal

did the seller state they ship in PWE in the auction? Also how much did they charge for SH?

Yea first thing to do is check shipping details and how much he charged for shipping, if he overcharged and/or said it would be bubble mailed, you have a right to a refund, afterwards, I would neg rep regardless of how it turns out

yep.....got dinged myself this month. The ebay seller you dealt with wasnt "opeechee" out of Burnaby was it? Im still trying to get my money back......:(

Have you talked to the seller? There is a chnace he will work with you on the situation, and just offer you up a full refund. If he refuses to work it out, just file a chargeback. The item is not in the condition it was described, so Paypal "should" just issue you a refund (once you ship the card back).

If you know the guy is going to be a total fleebag and make life difficult for you, file a claim saying the card never arrived at all. He has to prove it did by means of a tracking #

cant really tell the seller you recieved the card damaged and then turn around and say item not recieved...even if you dont message the seller and file the claim saying the card is not recieved i still wouldnt say its the best thing to do

scamming a scam artist isnt always the best option (although it works)

message the seller and go from there
no refund then file a claim under item not as described

I have contacted the sell, waiting for a reply. He did not mention about shipping in a PWE, or even a bubble mailer in that case. He did charge the regular $3 for shipping. I'll wait to see what he replies and work from there then.

If someone purposely screws me over, I have abosolutely no problem whatsoever screwing them over in return. As a matter of fact, I'd even feel good doing it

Two wrongs doesn't make things right...it just makes them even :)

twilightbeckoned

Won a Jamie Arniel Jersey Gold /10 got it in a PWE with no Top Loader charged $3.00 :foottap:

Received today an ITG Ultimate card in a PWE from Canada.

Ebay seller: great_memories

I'm glad that the card arrived undamaged. Nevertheless it's not acceptable for an ITG Ultimate /9.
