The White Envelope thread!

Here is my gripe.

I bought a card of ebay a 06-07 Jordan Staal Rookie Review or something like that bv was $30.I get it for 7.01 and shipping is 3.50 from canada. Finally get the card and it arrives in a white envelope FOR 3.50!!! So i'm like ok whatever at least its here.I open the card and its in a PENNY SLEEVE TAPED TO A PIECE OF CARDBOARD....FOR 3.50!!! What the freak i tell myself. After letting out a few deep breaths i pull out the card to see if it was damaged as i move the card from side to side i see a BIG STINKIN CREASE running from about the top to almost the bottom. The kicker card was described as MINT.Either he didn't pay attention to the card or it was damaged in the mail.Si i left negative feedback. Then he gets all ticked because i soiled his rep and should of talked to him first now he says he won't refund my money.I felt i was justified in leaving the feedback.I wanted to warn other people before they bought from him so they didn't end up like me.What amazes me is this guy had over 600 feedback.People were leaving feedback like "Great packaging" What about mine? This guys name is Dodies652.

Sorry for the rant.

Got a white envelopment from a guy at ucb, fuel77 and two (out of 4) was whites from ebay. All was well packed- softsleeve, tp & tb inside a message. Don't know why white should be banned. Never got any damaged inside white envelope so I rather think it's about the packing.

One thing that's often causes serious damage is the small 2-piece plastic cases. It's often too thin to add a softsleeve and the top and bottom card is often dmg'd because no wrapping is used to add the needed pressure (so the cards don't bounces around).

Received a nice Bergeron card from Sluggers card shop in Canada which is 2007_WSOP on ebay and received it in a white envelope.
Would have expected them to do better since there rating is so high.
Makes me like the ebay feedback system more because other than that the shipping was quick but I could leave that the charging for shipping wasn't as good!

Not a white envelope, but a big bubble envelope and three patch cards with no toploader, just decoys taped around them.

Paid $3.00 for S/H to arrive in a white envelope with a $1.10 stamp on it from Canada. I'll give the seller one point of credit, though, that he did have it between two fairly sturdy pieces of cardboard. However, the card did arrive with two small creases coming from the bottom of the jersey wholes (it was a Sweet Shots dual jersey) to the bottom of the card, and they are not visible in the picture from the auction. So, not sure what to do. Bah :(

I got one the other day except this one was a homemade one as the person used bubble wrap on the inside of the white envelope,I still hate that as those get run through the cancelling & sorting machines,it's gotta be a REAL bubble mailer for me.

Not a white envelope but a warning on this seller: shackem

Charged $6.95 ($3.95 for S&H and $3 for insurance)for insured shipping US to US. For people who ship cards you should know that with materials and postage and insurance it probably doesn't even get up to $3 since the insurance was no more than $50.
I asked him to kill the insurance charge and charge me the $3.95 (which is still overcharging from US to US by $1 or so) and he wrote back saying I was worse than his ex-wife. Guess there is a reason it is his EX ;) We went back and forth on a couple messages and it just got worse from there.
So if he charges every single customer $6.95 for insured shipping and make a $3 profit on each he could make BIG BUCKS when he isn't supposed to. If he does that 100 times in a month he makes $300 profit! Outrageous!
I reported him to ebay but what are they really going to do about it?
Sorry for my rant but it is people like that that kill ebays rep....if it even has one left:)

I don't think Nathan you can say it's Ebay's fault & that your stating it hurts their rep. I think Ebay has done all it can do with these S&H charges.I will add that I usually charge the correct amount. But you also must read the sellers rules & if he stated that in the auction & you missed it ,Who's to blame? If it's too high on shipping just pass and another card will come along but to say it's ebay's fault I say that's quite wrong. Just my opinion now.....

I was only saying ebay was at fault because they don't do anything about it. They tell you to report the sellers but what do they really do? Slap them on the wrist....say don't do it again?
I honestly thought the guy could kill the insurance since it didn't even go for that high and was not needed IMO. A DC# for $0.75 is good for me.
Guess my point is he could have worked with me and talked it out but he acted like a class act you-know-what.
Point taken though ;)

"Buyer to either pay $1.00 for shipping in a standard envelope or pay $1.75 for shipping in a bubble envelope. Paypal is also accepted. Not responsible for uninsured items. International shipping will be 50 cents more.

NOTE : I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU ELECT TO HAVE YOUR ITEM SHIPPED IN A STANDARD ENVELOPE AND IT GETS DAMAGED OR CREASED. STANDARD CARDS SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM. JERSEYS CARD OCCASIONALLY WILL GET CREASED."

card arrived ok but still.

eBay seller: billandchucks

They deal primarily in racing (perhaps exclusively - I only do racing and that is all I ever see from them) but I had heard the stories of people buying base cards off of them, payiong the $3 shipping and then getting a white envelope. Surely - they'd ship memorabila better? Nope! My father-in-law bought a 2007 Signings of Kurt Busch off of them and they sent it in a white envelope. This is apparently their practice on most cards now. Uncalled for in my opinion. Hope this helps some of you all out!

Seller: nautical*cards from Cobourg, Ontario, Canada

Card: 06/07 HP Fredrik Norrena Auto/3clr Patch RC

Price: $13.83 USD + $3 Shipping

$3 shipping, white envelope, taped between 2 top loaders. Card creased from left to right across the entire width of card just above the patch. Contacted him about the damage. 3 days later he gets back to me. Scanned it, sent him pictures, didn't hear back for 3 days. Contacted him again saying if I didn't hear from him or have a refund by Friday (this Friday), i'd file a PayPal claim and neg him.

May seem a little harsh, but it also took over a month and a half to get the damaged card to begin with.

Hear back today telling me if I want a refund, I have to send the card back and he'll refund my money.
