Hi gang I am reporting to the group about what happened to a recent deal. I did a deal on another site and he is also a member here with Ilhan ( Buffalo11 ). He sent me the cards from Sweden and I am not blaming him. What I am blaming is the thieves that work in the post office. I got the envelope in the mail and I was feeling the envelope and it felt like it had nothing in it. Anyways I carefully cut at the very end of the package and sure enough nothing in it. So I inspected the envelope and it looks like they carefully pealed it and glued it back together. I know this because I carefully peeled the ends and sure enough one side had glue and the other side did not.

Now I am not blaming Ilhan, I know he is an outstanding member. Thankfully it was only 40.00 worth cards that I paid. But I wanted to let members know about his because we all need to MAKE sure we tape the ends of the packages so this does not happen again. I would also suggest to put down Photo pictures on the custom form instead of cards. This has happened to me a few times now. I am not a big fan of selling to Europe because of it.

So Please be on a look out for the these cup cards if you ever see them. I would post pictures of the stolen cards but I am not a big fan of photo bucket and don't care for it.

I have read stories about this before.
Some people that have traded with me over the years might seen this on my bubble mailers

I wrap it around where I seal the envelope. Bought it at the dollar store years ago. I have never had a problem since I started using that.

Sucks to hear that people will sink that low.

Thanks for the read. After losing a PC in the mail about a month or two prior, it really hits home. It's only happened 2 or 3 times total, but it sucks so much every time it happens. It really is a shame that some people steal other peoples mail.

Something happened here to me.....I'm in my house, I get my notification from Ebay that my card was just delivered. I go directly to my mailbox and there's no card, but other mail, and the mailman is gone...the post office tells me it was delivered because it showed up on the scanner, what time and the side door. Obviously I didn't get it and the seller sent it...obviously that leaves one other person. Days after I got mail from Sweden, China, and other cards...so I know it isn't a neighbor...I'm pissed, I know I can get another copy of the card, but it's the principle....sorry you both went through it

Sad cards gets stolen, why risk all that for cards value at 40$ u may wonder? if u gonna steal then surely not worth it on such low value? i dont get it.. What did it say on the custom form, hockey cards? Usually its best to just write sportscard and declare a lower value then i bet nobody would care for it..

This is one of the many reasons why I have stopped dealing online. I have heard similar stories about customs agents stealing cards and this is why it is always smart to keep the values of the cards you are sending to the minimum requirement on the custom form. It is sad b/c post offices I think demand that you fill one of these out, but b/c of that your cards might be stolen. Makes no sense to me!

When I affix the label to the package, I always place the label over the seal on the back to help prevent situations like this.

I just received a card in the mail yesterday and the envelope had a small slit in it , which would have been big enough to get a card out of it, thankfully when I opened the package the card was still in it. Of course this was a $75 USD card and it was declared as such so I was worried that it was missing.

Edit: Seller got back to me and he confirmed he actually pulled the card out to double check he had put the correct card in the envelope.

Here in Finland everything has been fine. Ive been in eBay since 1998 as only buyer. So past 18 yrs it has been always perfect except a couple times. I dont believe as theory of possible thieves. But I believe is everything is monitored thru computer ...just one wrong letter it will make mess like ****. Computer read all mails but back before 80´s it was different. Some my bought cards were hanging on airport because address was in correct or label lost.

Sorry to hear that.

I had a package opened once, but the card was still in there. Guess they didn't want it XD
