This isnt set in stone or anything. I just wanted to see what kind ideas i could recieve from the board members here. I was thinking about expanding my PC beyond my current Big 2. Datsyuk and Tretiak. I was looking to get some new blood but i here the 11/12 rookie crop isnt as potent as it has been in recent years. Any ideas on a nice player whom i could possibly get some cards of. Im more into european skaters because they seem to carry less hype than most north american players. Any names?

oliver ekman larsson, yes iam a coyotes fan but he has the talent to be a stud d-man, plus with jovo gone he's probably going to see more ice time and pp time so his offensive numbers should be good. right now he has some hobby value in his cards but there still affordable. also you have one forward and one goalie collection, you need to add a d-man. good luck with whoever you choose!

Looking for a European, how about Burmistov for the Jets. Fairly cheap right now, lots of potential and moving to Winnipeg, good future.

a guy like tendenby is very flashy and could have alot of hobby appeal going forward being a goal scoring winger.

No offence, but this question always bothers me. I know you are just looking for input but when you are spending YOUR time, YOUR money, to collect I really think YOU should make the decisions... watch hockey and find someone you like. Someone you start to gravitate towards. Someone who, as corny as this sounds, finds a place in your heart and you root for.

Who cares about monetary value. Who cares about what others might perceive or anything.

That's what I started doing. Lecavalier has always been my favourite player but I noticed recently I gravitated a lot towards John Tavares (I was hoping the Leafs would tank and draft him so I followed him closely) and Phil Kessel. I don't care how they 'fit' in my PC... or what others think, or what value they hold (Tavares quite a bit, Kessel not so much).

Anyways, all I'd say is chose a player you notice you root for. Then research said player a little and make a decision. Don't let someone else tell you how to spend your time and money :)

(also, don't rush. You don't have to start someone new tomorrow... if someone grabs your attention this season, or even next, go for it then! You will be much happier in the long run you picked somone you actually like!)

This. Letting us tell you who to collect will lead to disappointment down the road when you realize you either don't like the player, or you realize you prefer someone else. It doesn't happen overnight, hell I've been collecting for about four or five years now and I've changed my focus many times. Just go with what feels right.

i take as he's looking for some players that he may not know to much about. I recommend he take the names follow them and see what he thinks. there are alot of hidden gems in the game, guys you don't see often because of the non-balanced schedule of the nhl.
