Hi Everyone,

Just looking for some advice from those who have submitted to cards to BGS for grading. I've submitted a few cards before via a group submission, but with the super long turnarounds, not sure when that will be a viable option.

I know that it's going to a cost a lot more than before as I think I was paying $30 CDN per card.

Just wondering if anyone can provide some insight on best option to ship?

How to ship/package the cards? BGS recommends to use floppy card savers? I am skeptical as to how these semi rigid holders would stand up while being shipped?

Shipping from Canada to the USA and getting the cards back from the USA, I am wondering if I would be hit with any duty or taxes due to insurance placed on the cards or the declared value?

Any answers would be greatly appreciated. If there was a similar thread created in the past, my apologies for bringing this up as I was not really able to find anything.

I submit my cards to Grosnor at Expo (November 15th - 17th) and they in turn send the cards to Beckett (Dallas) for grading. Grosnor upon the return of the graded cards will send them to you.
Also with the WCSCC (Vancouver), I would speak to a Grosnor rep at the show.

Find a Canadian based LSC that does group BGS submissions. That will bring your costs down significantly.

I think I have asked this before, but how does it work when you submit in a group and someone else is submitting the same card(s)? How are these kept separate? I have always wanted to get my McDavid YGs graded but haven't because of the costs especially with cross boarder shipping.

The person submitting the order should seperate the submission based on the person who sent them cards and then offer instructions to BGS. The major players who submit thousands of cards per year can get anything done with BGS.

You aren't wrong though, there is a little wiggle room for issues with non-game used, non-serial numbered cards.

if there is only one person submitting Mcdavid YG ,he can submit as many as he wants, kind of difficult to submit 5 different persons to ensure that is the right card coming back imo

Unless the cards are serial numbered then do not submit thru your LCS or as a group submission. You have a show coming up in Vancouver that BGS is attending. Submit them directly there.

Only certain bgs shows will accept submissions. If check ahead with them.

when I would send through the group submission on SCF, they wouldn't allow 2 people to submit the same unnumbered card.

Before sending my BATCH submissions, I contact the reps, Ken or Chris at Grosnor (Brampton, ON) and advise them of the shipment.
When it's a BATCH submission, I write up separate sheets and insert the cards in graded card bag with each having a LABEL for the BATCH #.
More than likely each BATCH is graded by a different Beckett person since ALL of my submissions have come sequentially numbered differently. The only matter is that each BATCH follow a pattern BUT each BATCH does not follow each other numerically!
