I didn't go to the Expo so I had some time to look at various hobby boards and I just read on SCF that the third and final Connor McDavid auto shield was pulled from EPACK.
Earlier the McDavid retro auto shield was also pulled from ePack. Maybe it is just me, but I personally think this shafts the local card store owners and those of us that still support them by shopping at their stores. Over the years I have been one of Upper Deck's biggest supporters but I think this is just wrong. Sure it makes economic sense for UD to hold back the best cards for their direct sale to the hobby via epack, but if I was a store owner and I am not, I would not be happy that two of the biggest cards in recent memory had no chance of being pulled at my store or by my customers when they are supporting the store owner and Upper Deck by buying at the local hobby store.
Congrats to the guy that pulled the card but two out of three McDavid shields come directly from UD Epack. Random selection, I don't think so, but that is just my opinion.
