Well this might be a long story but this is how I became a Nick Foligno Hockey Card Collector

I have been out of the hobby for at least 25 years (Growing up as a Canadian Base Brat moving every 3 to 4 years) but started to collect back in 2005 hoping to cash in on the Crosby sweepstakes. I went to my local card shop and met Hans from Game Breakers here in Ottawa. I bought my first Box of 05-06 Hero’s and Prospects, the Crosby he was not in there so I decided to buy one more box and told Hans I want the First one leaning against the boxes and the Auto that’s in it I will collect as a PC. The card I pulled was Card number A-NF Nick Foligno, Hans and I both looked at each other and said who is he? And he had a sweet signature. Who then was drafted in the 1st Round 28th OVERALL by the Ottawa Senators in 2006. What more can an Ottawa Senators fan ask for. Since then I was hooked looking for his cards.

I am the type of person that when you start something you finish it. So I said to myself I want all his Rookies including his parallels from 10 and up. This adventure started back at the start of the 07-08 Season and it ended on the 10th April 2010.

Some people have asked WHY NICK FOLIGNO? He is not that good. I tell them he is like your Sid or AO or Stevey Y. He is my PC Player


To my Knowledge this is the first full completed set of Nick Foligno Rookie Cards not including his 1 of 1’s

Nice job Ron, I love to see the player collections. As far as why Nick Foligno, I say why not. Some cards are definitely more valuable in a monetary sense but to a player collector no cards are more important than the player he/she collects.

Most impressive achievement and I agree with you on regards starting something and finishing it. Seems like many people give up (Fair enough when your player has several hundreds-thousands of cards I suppose) rather quickly or get bored.

I see you have a few 1/1's in there. Which other 1/1 cards are you missing, or rarer than /10.

I thought there was an MVP Gold too as i have been seeing other players for the same RC year out there. I call UD and asked them about Nick Foligno MVP Gold xx/100 They said they did not make it. But What do they really Knowwned:
