This years 08-09 The Cup..Redemptions???

I was told from a reliable source yesterday that at least 25 % of the cards are going to be redemptions.Rumour or truth?? Who knows.But even so it looks as though there is going to be alot !!. But we do know what Upper Deck's redemption centre is like..athlete commited to signing..inventory depleted..wait 1 month..3 months..1 year etc.. or card not made..or not returned or my favorite the brush off..yad yad yad.If this is true what effect is this going to have on there #1 Hockey product..
I myself was going to open 4-5 cases.. not now consider this and 1 in 4 cards are base..

Hopefully this is not the case but I thought I pass it your guys/gals way as my source is pretty reliable and this is something everyone should know if true..Time will tell..Hopefully it isn't as bad as I think..

I don't think you should panic just yet... The stuff hasn't even been packed out.

I have a hard time believing that 1 in 4 will be redemptions. There will almost certainly be some, but with a rumoured 30% reduced print run, I really can't see there being such a dramatic increase in redemptions.

It's all rumours and innuendo at this point, as nobody really knows who has got their stuff sent back to UD and what UD plans to do - they could very well decide that they're only going to have redemptions of top-tiered guys and if the mid-level guys don't get their stuff done, they get scratched.

I'm told that the Cup release has been delayed because too many players hadn't returned their signed cards (about a third?)...and the product hadn't been scheduled to be hand-packed yet, for that same reason. This from my dealer. For what it's worth, I'll add to the rumour-mill.

I expect redemptions are as likely as the sun coming up every day...
