Thoughts for Pricing Sets

Hello all,

So I'm thinning out most of my collection and am looking for feedback/suggestions on determining prices for sets.

I realize to get best value, I would need to sell the cards individually - but I don't have the time.

It's fairly easy to get a sense of the value of single cards, but a complete set is a different animal...

How would you folks go about determining a price point for a complete set?

as always, check ebay closed sales. unless your set is particularly rare, there should be some comparables. if you need to go further back, pwcc market research is free and goes back 4 years I think.

How big are these sets? Are these massive low-end base/insert sets or are these quality mem/auto sets that would carry a bigger demand?

I have never sold a set, but I'd look at the average price of each card to get some sort of a range you can realistically sell it at and throw it up on eBay (or here) and see what kind of offers you get?

Send it to COMC and let the desirable inserts get picked off quick. The rest will sit there until someone buys your entire port or if you're comfortable letting them sit there for a while someone will eventually buy them if they're appropriately priced.
