Latest update is that the union has increased its demands. This is gonna take a while...
There is some BREATHTAKING unrealism on both sides of this dispute.

Can we fire everyone involved and start over already :|
I dropped off some packages at my local Chit Chats location on Friday and they were overwhelmed. This is getting bad. Pretty soon, we won't have any options.
For those located in the GTA, a seller I just purchased a card from is sending it via chit chats, not sure if that is a service offered anywhere else but sounds like that's a cheap alternative instead of using the big couriers.

I got the notice that they received mine, and nothing since. Then agian, I'm on BASIC.A bit related, but was there an update from COMC on what was happening with all of the submissions dropped off at the Toronto Expo? I'm guessing they were mailing them back to themselves because I haven't seen anything change on the status of the two submissions I sent, one of which was at Elite level.

Scott: 3 hours? Luxury. EDMONTON. That's my closest.

Thanks - went back through my deleted emails folder and saw one there from COMC stating that the postal strike delayed a bunch of the consignment drop offs from the Expo... so I guess my stuff is sitting in a warehouse somewhere belonging to Canada Post... Ay Caramba.

Yup back to work finally! Then in a few years we can use Amazon to ship everything in Canada![]()
Listening to the labour minister speaking now, I think from what I have heard they are stepping in now to get this resolved. I am not 100% as I came into it a bit late.
Amazon will never deliver lettermail which is what most people use to ship cards. If you were using a tracked service, Amazon won't be cheaper than what Canada Post provides for 95% of examples
Canada Post needs to implement the system that the USPS has. You can ship a small bubble mailer with tracking anywhere in the US for a few dollars. We get hosed on any type of tracking service here.
It's a matter of scale. US has nearly 10x the population that Canada has in a smaller geographic area. So Canada Post has to service a larger delivery area with a fraction of the customer base. From a nation wide perspective Canada Post is relatively affordable. There is a reason why no alternatives can offer across the board lower prices, it's because it's not possible.
