Anyone collecting these? Just bought them to see what they are like and I think they are easily searchable. There's no wrapper, just a paper box you can gently open and then its the "locker". They are still neat but if you are hoping to get a golden stick, good luck.

I didn't know Tim Hortons was doing this so it surprised me. I don't think I'll pick any up (I'll just leave it for the kids in the area), but they do look nice.

Edit:

For those who don't know what these Tim Hortons mini stick 'lockers' look like, here's some pictures from someone on Twitter who received the McDavid:

Oh yes good call, I didn't want to post a link so people would think it's an ad for it but for those who don't know, the sticks themselves aren't random. You can ask for whichever player as long as they have it, but inside there are random gold sticks that lead to some serious prizes. As mentioned though, the packaging is not discreet so you can easily open it and check without damaging the packaging.

Anyway here's the official press release to seem less like an ad:https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/tim-hortons-r-launches-limited-edition-nhl-r-superstar-collectable-sticks-collection-with-mini-replicas-of-the-sticks-of-sidney-crosby-nate-mackinnon-mitch-marner-connor-mcdavid-alex-ovechkin-and-carey-price-821534758.html

I was at tims yesterday and am a sucker for their cards and other hockey promotional materials so I picked up the McDavid. It's maybe not what I expected but I think its kinda cool. I'll probably put them together...who knows in 40 years (if I make it that far) it could be cool to look back at.
A gold stick would be a sweet bonus, but probably not going to happen.

A buddy of mine pulled a gold stick! He is holding onto it for now. I have a pic. Can I send it to someone to upload?

I read Tim Horton’s is also putting out Barbie hockey players, soon.

Saw that a few days ago. While there will be inevitable pushback from people, I think this a great way to get young girls involved with hockey at a young age.

Good to see Tim Hortons recognizing that and being bold enough to offer barbies to their customers. Can't say a lot of other places would do the same.

Why would there be pushback? If you don't like something just don't buy it no? People got too much time on their hands.

I agree.

I don't want to get too deep into this on a hockey card forum, but I just feel like you just know some people will not like the idea of barbies being sold, in a coffee shop, representing a prodominant male-dominated sport. It will, unfortunately, rub some people the wrong way. I've heard some questionable comments about this Tim Hortons initiative already, so once it's officially released, more negative comments will arise from some people I'm sure.

I think it's a great idea that will no doubt inspire others to play the game that they love. I'm sure it will make great gift ideas, too!

But yeah, if people don't like it - then simply don't buy it.

I think these sticks are pretty cool. Tim Hortons, if you're watching - the folks in the US like hockey promotions too.

I'm not sure who decides these deals (Tim's or NHL/NHLPA) because I don't know who sits in marketing and thinks a Marner stick is better than a Matthews stick. This is the first year so the promotions team probably had limited options in terms of players and maybe even distribution.

For this year, if you want a specific stick, you can always get a HI member to mail you one? Let me know, I'd be happy to help.

I think Jeremy will agree and if he doesn't he can chime in. We are living in an era that attitude correction is needed more than ever. There is nothing wrong with participating in a healthy amicable discussion that won't result in trolling or people being down right idiots. Those people can go away.

As for the pushback, I am happy they are making barbies of different skin colors. That is a step in the right direction YET I do understand the negative connotation of barbies in general.

On a side note I've ordered a few for people in the states who can't get them. I didn't know these would be so hot off the presses. I'd not want one but its another sign in our system that the economics of where people are choosing to spend their monies are endless.

Anyways carry on ..

I was able to secure (lol) a set this morning. Thankfully some slob didn’t drive around and buy up all the McDavids yet.

Grabbed a MacKinnon today just to have one. Nice little collectible!

These are really selling out in places already? They've only been out for a few days correct? Since covid started I don't roll through Tims as much as I used to.

I was going to buy hopefully the set, but I have been reading that they are not sealed, and people have been saying that when they open it up, sticks are missing. So it seems like some locations have been searching for the golden stick, or just flat out stealing them. Sort of a deal breaker for me on this product.

There's a guy on ebay who's been selling them for a couple weeks now. $20 each I believe. Same guy who gets the timmies cards a couple weeks in advance.
