Time to Play Arcane Goalie Trivia

gotta be Gary Bromley right?

Yes, indeed. Gary "Bones" Bromley. The significance of this card is that it is (probably) the only O-Pee-Chee card that features Bromley in this mask. He only wore it for a short time before his career ended.

The fun fact about this card is that Bromley didn't play for Vancouver in 1981-82, so this photo is from a prior season, giving us an unexpected treat. Or scare. I imagine some kids opening packs back in 1982-83 were given quite a start when they looked closely at this card.

For more on the mask, here's a solid article:

My guess is Sean Burke. That looks like a red Louisville stick.

Between the Cooper pads with the red sides, the red Louisville stick, and the red/white/green Brian's glove, I'd have to agree that this one is Sean Burke.

Agree. We should get a prize.

It is Wayne Stephenson! This was a little bit of a trick because Stephenson didn't play for Washington in '81-82 and he's wearing Al Jensen's #35. The photo must be a little old.

Anyway, Al Jensen can be found on numerous cards in the background as Topps/OPC used a DC based photographer for many years. His glory year in cards is '84-85, where he and Jennings co-winner Pat Riggin can be found in the background of over a dozen cards.

I have no guess on this one... but have to say...This is fantastic, a lot of fun!! Thank you, for doing it!!! Cheers!!! Paul!!!!

Never collected cards in the 90's but I'm guessing Glenn Healy. Fuhr wore the same pads ...I actually own a pair of the same pair of pads that are beat to heck

edit...not Healy if it was 93-94 as he was getting his ring.......Guessing Fuhr

It is Grant Fuhr. The photo is probably from this game:

Okay, this next one is impossible.

Why is it so hard? Well, Oksiuta didn't play for Edmonton in '92-93, so this is a photo from a pre-season game, probably 1993. That means the Bruin goaltender could be any rando at camp, and I can't find a listing of their camp roster. This presumes the player is even a goaltender as there's nothing to indicate that other than the net behind him.

So I don't know who it is. Do you?

It's probably Jon Casey - wore 30 and that looks like it could be a Y as the last letter on the jersey. I was thinking David Littman first but I'll go with Occam's Razor and say it's Casey

It could be a Y, and Casey is the obvious choice, but would we be able to see that much of his nameplate without seeing any of his head? I think the last letter looks most like an "N", so David Littman is certainly a candidate. I don't know what number he wore in camp.

I also though Marcel Cousineau could be a possibility, but I don't know if he was in the 1993 camp. He signed with Toronto a few months later. The internet is a vast repository, but it does not care about training camp rosters and pre-season results!
