To Crack Or Not To Crack?

that is the question! im looking for some opinions on what i should do with this one.

i bought this on ebay for a great price for my set(raw one sold for $75 more a few days later) but being graded it doesnt match the rest of my set and also being only a 9 it doesnt make the decision simple! if the card was an 8.5 or lower it would be an easy bust out or if it was a 9.5 a simple keep, but a 9 shows it is mint and also the auto on the back got a 10

im just looking to see what you guys would do. im honestly leaning towards cracking it but if there are some more good reasons not to i would love to hear them

I would probably crack it. Another option is to go for a BGS 9 set.

If it is for your set it is a no brainer get the flat head and the snips and free that card. one touches and a frame or a shelf is the way to go

Crack it. My understanding is that a grade of 9 matches the high price the guide. So it really has no extra value.
Put it in your set.

personally I would keep it in the case, I just don't understand cracking open cards unless they are under a 9, I figure a 9 and higher stays in the case, just my opinion though, if at any point you try to sell it, I would rather know that it's a 9 then might be a 9. Unless you plan on always keeping the set, then do what you want

Crack it! For modern stuff, if it isn't 9.5 it isn't worth it.

thanks for the quick responses guys! yea i plan on keeping the set for the foreseeable future so im going to try and put together as nice of an /99 set as i can to keep for my pc. *cheap plug* im on the hunt for the kadri and ekman-larsson if anyone has one available! *end cheap plug* :beer:

i went your responses and my gut and popped it out. made it way more difficult than it probably needed but got out safe and sound and is now in a one touch! next up is to get some clean one touches for the set haha

Unless the grade is 9.5 there is no added value to the grading. You made the right choice and IMO it looks better out of the case.

That went for a really good price as well as I was biddin on the card too

If you pick up a nicer one in the future, keep me in mind haha
