Right now here is where things stand.
When these cards were made, all cards were serially numbered out of 30. The cards were made of plastic, thick plastic and the numbering was a Customer Service issue as soon as the product hit the market.
For that reason, we left the card overs at our printer/packager in Dallas so that if a collector sent us a card with a damaged number, we could email Dallas and have a new card with that number shipped to us and then sent to the customer.
Six years ago that company was sold and we tried one product with the new company that took over the facility and were not satisfied with their work. We asked that any and all materials belonging to us (cards, waste, packaging, tape, foil, over-wrap, plates etc) was shipped to us.
We got many skids of materials sent to us and until this thread was posted I gave this matter no further thought.
Once I was aware of the situation, I contacted the eBay seller who had the cards, he told us who he bought the cards from. That seller also co-operated with us and told us who he bought the cards from. That is where we are now, trying to contact the person who sold the unnumbered, unauthorized cards to the eBay seller and finding out where he bought the cards.
Hopefully, once we get in contact with him, we can finally find out how these cards made it into the market. Although I have an idea and you might from this post, I don't want to jump to conclusions, especially if legal action might have to be taken.
I am trying to do whatever I can to understand exactly what took place but these cards were made over ten years ago. I am surprised that these cards just started to surface last summer.
I will keep everyone posted as soon as there is any new information.
