To sell or not to sell...

Unfair to put Mike Green in with this group. Even so, most of these guys did not have a huge rookie season. What Gostibere is doing is unprecedented as a rookie. Not saying he will be a HOF player, but who knows.

Oh yeah, I'd sell.

There have been a lot of great D-men to come into this league. An offensive D-man is rare these days. There are only a few that retain any "real" value. PK may be one of the few that still has a command on the collector with his cards but most of the rest don't.

There are plenty of top notch D-men that should be valued more. When it comes to collectability, the numbers that they put up place more value on the card. D-men should not be graded on the same curve as forwards but they are. Is a scoring D-man better than a stay-at-home type that can shut down a top line all night, every night?

For your question...sell.
The value is with the hype. AND the best hype is fresh hype in the RC year. He will not duplicate this year's success. He could put up 20 more points next year but his cards will still go down because he 1) isn't a forward & 2) isn't new.

I hope he has a good career. If he keeps these numbers up, though, he'll be target for a leg slice when they play the Rangers.

I was drawing the comparison between D-Men and sale prices. Mike Green cards were extremely hot in 2008-09, but his name is not Bobby Orr so eventually they came back to earth.

Sell sell sell.
