Took A Gamble...

So, Craig Berube jersey up on the Bay, BIN of $250, advertised as game-used... no LOA.

I am 75% in favour of it being a gamer but am doing investigations now (CSI UK).

So, if I am wrong and it isnt a gamer, could a mod please delete this post!

Anyone got any reason if it could/could not be a gamer?

I like it, at first I was worried about the lack of a shield by ccm, then I thought all ccm logos in the late 80s (before the shield was used) were blue & red but nope, checked a little & it looks good

My only concern is that it should have other people's blood stains on the sleeves great sweater!

Well, now I am not so sure. Bert had a look at some of the Flyers jerseys that sold from the same era as Berube would have worn the #17 (CSI Bert - thanks for doing that), the worrying thing is the CCM logo is slightly more squat on the actual gamers.

I did e-mail Milt (on Tuesday) and got "Looks ok to me" back... unfortunately I'm kind of with Bert on this.

That doesnt mean this wouldnt be a pre-season shirt.

In the late 80s teams re-used and recylced jerseys all the time for that purpose.

Is there any evidence of a nameplate change?

My Caps Al May Ive recently discoved was used as a 89-90 preseason but a recycled Bengt Gustafsson

Well, like I said - it was a gamle and, to be honest, it is still a nice looking jersey just wish it was a gamer.

In happier news, I have a gamer on its way that will more than make up for this set back... a Top Ten guy!

Though it's a home jersey, Berube's jersey has that giant CCM tag here:

With Mallette and Ruff in the lineup, that likely puts this at the 1990-91 season as it was Ruff's last in the NHL and Mallette's first.

So I did a little scouring and found a 1990-91 Mike Ricci gamer. Guess what? Big CCM Tag, but it has a shield: http://www.gamewornhockey.com/mike-ricci.html

So let's dial back a bit...here's a Hextall road jersey from 88-89. No shield...but the CCM logo is colored: http://www.gamewornhockey.com/ron-hextall.html ... he has a Brian Propp home jersey that has a colored CCM logo too.

Which brings us to 1989-90...and I couldn't find a road gamer from 89-90. I'll keep searching.
