NOW WITH BLURRY PHOTOS!

I'd been in the market for a new jersey, and I like to collect from teams all over, so the idea of a mystery jersey was appealing. Dave and Adam's had a sale on their Series 6 Hit Parade auto jerseys. Since I can't go to the casino, why not gamble here?

Ordered it this weekend, got it today, so fast service as always.

I open the box a peek...

RED JERSEY.

Ok, that narrows down the teams quite a bit, and not even in a terribly favorable way for me as it excludes pretty much all my favorite teams. But I own no red jerseys, so this will at least be new. Open the box a little more...

WHITE NUMBERS

Okay, probably looking at New Jersey or Chicago. The second number is definitely a "2", the first might be a 3? Who wears 32?

Open it a bit more...

AUTOGRAPH REVEALED

But I can't read it! It's E and then scribble. But the number is there - 92. Gotta admit, this stumped me. I couldn't think of anyone who wore 92 in New Jersey or Chicago. Is there a 92 in Carolina?

No, but there is one in Washington. Open box more...

KUZNETSOV

Ah, totally forgot about him. Unfortunately, this series of Hit Parade includes custom jerseys, and that's what this is. No tags at all, not even laundry. No patches on the shoulder, not the greatest quality cloth. Some nylon/polyester/whatever jersey. Crest is stitched on along with numbers and nameplate. And at least it's an XL, so I can wear it if I want. I was a little concerned about sizing when I bought in.

So I would say I lost this gamble, but hey, them's the breaks.

Same here, the "custom" jerseys just don't do it for me. But a Kuznetsov isn't a bad hit considering other names I've seen come out.

I know sometimes they do an "Officially Licensed Edition" for jerseys, that might be a better box to take a chance on in the future if you decide to try again.

Agreed. Even if it is a Fanatics jersey, that's still solid. I like them quite a bit, very comfortable.

I've bought several of these from their store. They do a "regular" version -aka- custom jerseys an an "authentic" jersey version, which is understandably more.

When they started the product few years ago, I bought a few, and commented to the guys that I was a little disappointed they were not "REAL" jerseys. Turns out, the guy who was in charge of the "Hit Parade" product was standing nearby and heard me. He commented how much more a "REAL" jersey product would cost, and how the autograph is the hit more than the jersey I told him I'd rathr pay more for a better quality/real jersey. Next thing you know, they started the "Authentic" line.

My personal experience is the less expensive "Custom" version has pretty consistently decent names while the "OFFICIALLY LICENSED" version is more "Feast or Famine". I've done pretty well with the authentic product, they include COAs from UD, Beckett, AJ's, ETC. - But I had one REAL CLUNKER once, which shied me away..

Name that clunker!

I'm with you. This is more about the jersey with the auto as the cherry on top. I may do the authentic hit parade at some point.

OK, opinions are sure to differ, I'm not sure this is quite as bad as a Daigle, but it sure gave me a sore bum after paying $200+ for the box

As you can see, I'v never bothered to take it from the box...

And there it is...

I remember looking this up after I pulled it, and they were NOT selling for around $40.

The store manager at the time felt so bad, he gave some store credit to ease my pain.

Now to be fair, the other side of the coin has given me a "Officially Licensed" Jerome Iginla Avs jersey and a UDA Certified Sean Couturier Flyers jersey Limited Edition #/50.

That's a big YIKES. But glad to hear you've had other successes!
