Two boxes of UD Buybacks

Just like it was from a pack of Ice. Same as the Crosby Cup rookie that is in the product. Previously released autos are not marked in any way.

No markings that it is a buy back is NOT good in my opinion. If you are marketing a product as buyback, then at least make sure you can tell it was a buyback. A number or sticker of some kind.

Was the Duchene a redemption that never packed out?

Epic fail if the rest are the way of the Duchene.

I did sell the Pouliot for $50 USD delivered just now. It covers half a pack at least. Eh, it is a better return than most boxes I break.

Not a bad sale on the Pouliot.

I agree with one of the posts above, that's really dumb and in my opinion lazy on UD's part to not somehow label them as Buybacks. What's stopping me from buying random old UD cards and selling them for $100 a pack as Buybacks?

I just sold the Hossa /5 for $45 usd. I guess that pack which was nothing special got my money back. I will take that return every time that I buy a box.

I don't think the argument is as clear cut as that.

If I pulled the Crosby Cup, I sure as hell would not want it stamped. I'd want to be able to sell it like any other Crosby Cup card.

At the end of the day, I think it depends on the quality of the buyback card. If a 'desirable' card is stamped, the value of it may take a hit.

On the other hand, if an 'undesirable' is stamped, it may appeal to those player collectors who see the stamped card as a unique card.

is there any kind of stamp on the card and a stamp on the coa to match?............. that can and will open a can of worms if there isn't . if there isn't any kind of stamp on the card , who says someone cant buy a cheap card and buy it just for the coa and then use that coa and put a 1/1 on a card they got autoed in person

you can check ud wedsite for the checklist but them checklists are never right.... theres always previous years releases in current year releases

I can't remember if there was labeling present (I don't think there was) on the 2004-05 SP Authentic "previously autographed cards", but they did include a certificate card, and I thought that was a nice touch. An unaltered card with certificate seems like the best of both worlds - having the desirable piece that could be sold as simply that card, but also certifying its presence in that set for player collectors, etc.

If they had stamped the cards, a whole bunch of people would have been up in arms about ruining the card, and how it would not count towards their collection because it's been stamped, etc. etc.

Doesn't this all sound a little familiar?

To the OP, good job on recouping some of that money! I would not have expected those prices.

Yeah I think you are right. Can't win either way. I think in the past there was some sort of SN sticker placed on the back as well as a COA card. Now to the point above I don't want to see that sticker on a Crosby RPA, but I would have loved to see it on the Duchene.
