U.S. team looks young...

Wow, the U.S. sure shocked me with their team. Ony big names back will be Modano and Weight. I like their youth movement though. I almost will be sad to see Canada defeat them so handily. I wonder if all the rest of the older players declined or just were not asked?

If Canada plays them, I don't think it would be a lopsided victory at all. The US team, while young, is made up of NHL players who have been the league for a while. While not all-stars, they're quality players.

I'm glad Canada is incorporating some younger players as well.

I was wondering that too. It was a little surprising to see Tim Thomas named where Esche should be. The team should be able to compete but I'm not sure if they'll be able to take home a medal.

Esche said he wouldn't play because he hasn't seen game-action since last playoffs and wouldn't be able to play at the competitive level needed. Probably the same reason alot of guys aren't signing up for both US and Canada.

Awesome to see Ty back in the tourney after the awesome tournament he had last year.
Led the US to a medal, and won best goalie.

So he is more than deserving.

LOL....for the World Cup, Team USA's too old. For the World's they're too young. Funny part is if it was Team Canada, a lot of people would say 'experienced' or 'eager and full of zeal'. All in the eye of the beholder boys. Hopefully they make a run of it.

If it was Canada there would be talent to go with the "eager and full of zeal", lol.
