I am baffled by the pricing Beckett is giving for the UD Black Lettermen auto/patch /99 versions.

Brunnstrom $200
Frolik $120

yet all of these guys outsell BOTH of those and have way lower values!

Wheeler $80
Schenn $80
Oshie $60
Berglund $80

I have a very hard time trading my Wheeler because I sure as heck won't trade it for $80 BV when they sell for $60-100 for non E versions. I paid $66 plus shipping for mine!

Anyone else think this is crazy and have problems trading theirs?

I don't want this to turn into a Beckett bashing post....I just want to see if other people have had such problems trying to trade/trade for a similar card like Wheeler at the current listed price? Maybe Schenn or Oshie collectors can explain?

You think most people would understand that Beckett is messed up and could take sell value into consideration but I have found this very hard lately.

We all know Beckett's pricing is irrelevant. Why use Beckett values to trade at all?

When I trade I prefer to use common sense and actual market value. It's worked quite well in most cases.

I 100% agree with you but there are a bunch of people out there that follow Beckett like it is the bible. I wouldn't be posting this if it was only 1-2 guys that I had this happen with, it has been more like 7-8 people!

What does Doughty book at?

There is no reason why Frolik or Brunnstrom should be worth 2-3x more than Schenn, Oshie, Berglund & Wheeler.

You can get a SP FW Patch auto /100 of Frolik for around $40-50 if it's one of those sick Panthers patches with 5 colours and 12 breaks...

I needed a Kulemin recently.

I knew a dealer who had one.....we were both in agreement that the "BV" was out to lunch....we worked it out...

$60 BV for Doughty as is Sbisa....go figure. I would think Doughty would be double Sbisa in value. This hobby needs a MAJOR overhaul from the UD and Beckett aspect of things:rolleyes:

Yeah I'm a bit miffed on the Schenn value too - bought my redemption for $150 which was a good deal back then, but now I'll be lucky to get half of that back with the real thing in-hand :(

I don't evne use BV or common sense. If a guy tells me he wants X card, I just look at their bucket and ask if the card I like is available and see if it works out or not. Usually works for me, although I always tend to pick "lower" bv stuff.
