I know "The Cup" is the KING for hockey collectors now (myself....although the cards are sweet I (myself) can not justify the price....might be different this year with a lower print run?? less rc's?? probably not....just make more so if you do pull a nice one it will be out of 499)
What happened to being happy to pull a nice RC Auto Patch?? Hot Prospects now floods the market with auto's RC patches..../599?? When I was browsing the boards and thinking about getting back into the hobby I thought the /349 was a bit much. Bust a Tin of the Cup and pull a cup of coffe RC Patch?? Hopefully the other cards were sweet though!
Even pulling a SPA FW Patch /100 a few years back was a great pull (Although not a RC....I crapped my pants when I pulled the Nash 61/100...with a sweet patch!) Then Premier came out and gave us Auto Patch RCs /99 nice and limted...not every rookie got one....the next year 2 levels /99 & /199 that was OK since again, not every rook got one!
I know, I know....guaranteed a RC patch in the Cup...but I myself would rather see a regular hard signed RC then a scrub patch...market is flooded...put the RC patch in every 4 tins or something, keep the other cool cards...but limit those patches for the rooks!!
CUT the patches back...please....and get rid of Ultimate....I see this as the new Premier minus the patches for the Rooks>>>bring back Premier with 6 RC Patches /99 and 6 out of /199 (hard signed please) and 8 Auto'ed RC's /199and the rest regular rooks /399....
2002 "100 bucks a pack holy ****! gimme 2 boxes....Spezza Auto Patch out of 99...holy ****, I heard he's going to be good!"
2003 "Man I didn't get a patch in this pack of Premier....but I pulled a sweet Frolov RC Auto /199"
2004 "last pack....thick card!! Sweet a Staal 4 color patch and a regular Lehtonen /399!!"

2007 "Missed the Cup when it was chea....cheaper, I'll try that Ultimate stuff...pulled a rookie patch, no auto...not even considered a RC...what the??"

Plus I think past Premier collection cards still kill last years Cup for looks...except maybe if Bergeron used the right pen for his lol

I'd like a chance to pull a SP Rookie Patch without getting a divorce lol I'm just looking for a product that would have some nice rookie patches, that is limited and falls above Hot Prospects and below The Cup....I guess Ultimate....but no RC Patchse???
hmmm after reading this...I may have benn jumping around a bit...
I know there are levels for which products are produced for from Victory up to the Cup...a never mind, I miss Premier.....maybe if they limted the patches in Hot Prospects I would not have had this rant...or if I had the cash flow to bust 2-4000 per month of wax... maybe if they put RC Patches in Ultimate?? (considered RC's at least?)
