So this is pretty cool.

Recently we shared an image gallery of the new NHL® Chronology, but something we haven’t shared is that there will be five exchange cards for premium memorabilia items.

First item they've shared is Doug Gilmour's 1987 Canada Cup ring:

What’s really cool though is that whoever pulls the exchange card for this item won’t just receive it as a stand alone piece. Always innovating, Upper Deck is creating a shadowbox display for these items. This historic ring will be encased in a “Museum Collection” paper and acrylic card. The ring will be placed on the top of the card, featuring acrylic facings on three sides and strategically placed at a 45-degree angle so it will view nicely.

Looks like we'll have to see what the other 4 memorabilia pieces in this program will be.

What would you do if you received Gilmour's Canada Cup ring?

Well that's kind of cool. I saw that on their twitter page and couldn't quite figure it out. Of course, I didn't go searching to find any information either

That is really cool! Hopefully they put a longer duration on the exchange time so it’s available a few years in the future

Can you imagine, 5 years down the road, the expiration passes, and someone who has another redemption which can't be fulfilled, and asks for Gilmour as one of the acceptable replacements, and gets that? Then of course, you know this redemption will be pulled like 3 months later. :|

I couldn't imagine UD using these items for a replacement, so would they have to set an expiration date on these Exchange Cards? My gut says they will of course, but they should hang onto them forever, in theory, since these aren't cards and they would have all 5 of these unique items in-hand (not like with cards that may or may not be ever produced) when the product launched, just waiting for the lucky winners to redeem them. What else would they do with them otherwise?

This may be the coolest redemption prize ever. Can’t wait to hear what the other four are. More rings perhaps?

Love it when they add bonuses like these! Last one I remember was when ITG Ultimate had cards that gave you a shot at several game used jerseys which were awarded at the Toronto Expo. Would love to land the Canada Cup ring, can't wait to see what the other items are.

Honestly a little underwhelmed by the rest. Makes sense they'd hype the big one. The Isles ring is likely just a staff member's. Neat at least there's a Gretzky piece there, though! Curious about the ribbon and pendent, too. Probably a wife's pendent or something for the Habs.
