Hello everyone,

Just checked out the news on Beckett about the draft redemption.

http://www.beckett.com/estore/news/?eskin=beckett&a=6332&s=1

Third paragraph down,

"Under the terms of the arrangement, Upper Deck will now manufacture the cards using the original In The Game card design. The cards will be delivered by Upper Deck to the NHLPA offices in Toronto where they will be then be sent to collectors as they are redeemed."

How long do you think it will take upper deck to get the cards to the NHLPA?

Shawn

I don't think it will take that long - no design is included and it's really in their printers hands. Also, how is it that "UD screws us again"? I was disappointed that ITG wasn't allowed to print the cards, but really, that's the NHLPA's call. They decided to honou the redemptions themselves and turned to their only approved manufacturer to get it done.

The way UD screws us again is because it is a Upper Deck redemption now. Enough Said.

Actually UD is the one getting screwed as many people purchased ITG boxes just to get the redemptions. Now UD is honoring the redemption for something they never got original compensation for. I'm sure the NHLPA is taking care of them but how much revenue would they have made from boxes had they originally inserted them? A big thanks to UD for honoring another companies redemptions.

If you've read it clearly - all UD is doing is printing them - and the NHLPA will administer them, not UD. Also remember that ITG had about a 60 day turnaround from the time that someone played their first game, so it's not like you're going to get them right away anyways. Now if it gets into 90 days+, then you can have an axe to grind with them.

At least they will be redeemed. Hopefully they will not slap a whole bunch of UD logos all over the cards. It would be a real shame if that happened.

I know this must sound like a broken record but I hope another company is allowed into the market if not this year, then next year.

I've still get an Eric Fehr here... he needs to hurry up and play so I can redeem it! lol

Oh yeah - I pulled a Nathan Horton (Draft pick #3) on the weekend too which is long since expired. I wonder what would happen if I sent it in?

I think the only concerned people should be the ones that have already submitted to ITG. I can't imagine that the exchange between ITG and UD will go without incident....

Looks like I have been shouted down from the mountain top :) I know the last on I redeemed was Nash and I got it back in three weeks. I just know that Upper Deck + Redemptions = problems for collectors as numerous posts on here suggest. I could be wrong and UD could pull off a fantastic redemption program to prove to the NHLPA that they deserved to be the only game in town, but I am not holding my breath. I don't think you have to worry about the exchange between UD and ITG since the cards ITG has will be sent directly to the NHLPA from ITG.

Shawn

Way to go NHL/NHLPA! Screw the fans (by giving just one company a license) just when you need them the most to get your sorry arses back on track. ITG built the BAP brand after Pinnacle arsethrusted the poor thing.

NHL/NHLPA = scum.
