This may just be my opinion but in my mind UD constantly proves to us that they could care less as to what they pack out. Every year there are blatant errors that makes you wonder if they even have heart into the product they are selling us. Everything from spelling errors, grammar errors, wrong information, upside down autos, missing jersey pieces and so on. I will give you an amazing "fresh" example. Among other things one of my job functions is creating ad's for a large dealership chain and every time I have to create one I spend more time proof reading and rechecking then actually creating the ad. It scares me to death if I let something stupid slide that ends up being printed on a $30k+ ad. I check the fine print 1000x times just in case, I show other employee's and even still I always think there is an error in there somewhere.

Well this is like most of us in the world, yet UD they just wing it with no big deal. I don't have my scanner hooked up but get your new Beckett (with messier on the cover) go to the back page and you will see UD's ad for 07/08 Artifacts. Very simple ad for a pricey product. 6 large pictures and some text. It takes all of 2 seconds to realize there is a huge error on the ad. Jack Johnson #547/999 is pictured above Artifacts Rookie, you see the same exact picture posted above Artifacts Auto-facts. I mean really a 6 year old could pick that out just by thinking hey look same picture neat!

Some will call this nitpicking but after all of the constant "oops" errors UD continues to make this one just made me laugh, I mean seriously don't even try to tell me you guys have a single person proof reading anything you put out. Your lack of care is growing by the day and sooner or later it will catch up to you.

Oh and don't get me started on the Beckett and Karvin interview. To me it looked like another UD submission of an interview. Karvin no offense but the interview was about product's being released, you go out of your way to actually ask for a redemption question only to follow it up with a typical robotic UD answer we have heard about 17 times now. Even when it gets to the point where redemptions now expected to be a horrible experience and ignored you manage to tweak the knife that much more, a suggestion would have been to just leave that portion out why bring it up? Of course the redemption process is getting better in your eyes, your not the one buying a blank card for market value only to sit on the pending redemptions for 12+ months still. Thanks for the read, I can always find comedy in a UD/Beckett Q&A.

Here's the ad, what I find even more hilarious is they spent the time on "creative marketing", or as most would call it, false advertising, with the Lemieux/Gretzky card, yet couldn't get the Auto-Facts picture correct. It's hard to see from the scan, but they show a picture of a "Tundra Dual Jersey" and the card is serial numbered /50, yet if you see the ad in person, you will know it is either doctored or something else because it is clearly two patch pieces, not jersey swatches. The Tundra Dual Patches say Dual Patches right on the front of the card, yet this one says Dual Jersey /50 yet there is a 3 color Lemeiux Patch and a 1 color Gretzky patch. And before anyone says it could be a 3 color piece of jersey, you can clearly see the layers and stitching, it is a patch piece. And I think we all know it will be a cold day in hell before UD puts patch pieces on a regular jersey card.
