Just a heads up guys, I think the boxes/cases of UD1 are a little light this year. I opened a case yesterday and here is what it yielded:
72 Young Guns (1 Complete 50 Card Set and 22 Dups)
1 Complete set of 42 Inserts plus some dups
8 Exclusive Parallels #/100
24 UD Game Jerseys
1 Dual Jersey Thornton/Staal #/100
1 Game Dated Moment Brind'Amour
1 Auto Crosby (The card in my sig)
0 Patches
0 Triples
0 HG Glossy Parallels
Overall I lucked out with the Crosby otherwise I might have really upset. I'm not sure if my case was missing a couple of "hits" or if this is a Common case break. BTW, Nothing is f/t I just wanted to give you guys a "heads up" if you were planning on opening any of the stuff. Mike

alot of cases last year in series one and two didnt come through on the case breaks (patch,HD /10 OR /5, auto card). I'm sure the Cosby would beat most lower end case pulls though.

Thanks for the info.

Good thing you reeled in the Crosby, or there would've been heck to pay! ;) On that, is it #'ed? TLMK

UD Thoughts

When dealing with UD in the summer to get replacements, their
customer rep stated that UD feels the avg box should yield around
a 40% value after breaking; ie if you pay $50 for a box, after ripping,
you should be able to sell the cards for $20.

This case without the crosby would fall into that range. With
the Crosby, it quite possible is considered an above average
case.

Brian, The card is not serial numbered, but with the autos falling 1: Hobby case and there being 59 in the set I bet the card has a print run of 100 or so. Just a guess....

As for the other replies. Please note that I wasn't at all complaining about the case. I am actually pretty pleased. Just wanted to point out that it looks like some of the "case hits" like Big Playmakers Jerseys, Patches, Double Jerseys, Triple Jerseys, etc have been replaced by Exclusive parallels and a Game Dated Moment Insert. Mike

Mike, this is the sort of case that I usually get, minus the Crosby :p

Thanks for the report and showing off the Crosby Auto!

Congrats on the nice case hit...

For the price of Artifacts vs UD1 I really don't know why anyone would choose to rip UD1. Much better value in Artifacts IMO.

Other than Priority Signings at the Fall Expo, I would DEFINITELY have to agree with you Ferris (Did I really just say that??? :p ). Artifacts is one of those sets that boxes of it are actually going to rise, which was a rare thing last year!!

Looking at the odds, that's probably the average for a case break Mike. You're right, they dropped a few things from last year like the Big Playmakers (WHY UD?) and the dual and triple jerseys from last year (2 and 1 of each per case respectively) have been serial numbered down to the point they are a combined case hit.

Personally, I don't mind the reduction in the regular game jerseys - it was getting a little much last year, but your odds on hitting anything with a 1 or 2 box buy now are way out to lunch. I guess the value is supposed to be in the rc's.

UD series 1 and 2 are about the set collectors. The rookies are the hits, not the hits. And with UD throwing in more and more rc's every year, they ensure more set collectors are going to need to buy more boxes to get the set done. If you have to buy 8-10 boxes to get the set done, then you're almost guaranteed to get some kind of case hit, whether it's a HG, a patch, Sig Sensations, or a triple jersey, etc.
