UD1 box break .......... and an obervation ...

Hi

after downsizing my collections, for some money ....... to pay for some debts and others, i went to the Thornhill show, to meet Joey because he wanted to see what i have, he picked some stuff, and i decided to trade a box of UD1 for the stuff ......

UD Young Guns
Wolski
Meszaros
Dallman
Hollweg
Campoli
Nokelainen

(probably the worst 6 in the set, when i thought i am going to hit a crosby in the box because of the Meszaros and Campoli, but no, here is where the observation comes in, more later)

Jerseys
Grier
Bobby Clarke (decent but no SP)
Triple Lafleur/ Koivu/ Riberio (2 colours)

thats a case hit .......... now i realize, this is the second time i seen this happens ....... you know how if you hit a certain rookie, Campoli, for example, then you will hit a Crosby, right ?? This only happens if you get no case hits in the box, the auto, triple, BP or a HG. the "sequence" of YG is different for boxes with only 3 regular jerseys, and boxes with the case hits .....

but i am happy with my box .... nice triple none the less

Your definitely thinking the same way I am.

Everytime someone hits a Crosby the jerseys ****... It's like given almost. But when you don't hit a Crosby the jerseys can be far better.

Since your rookie sequence missed out on the Crosby, you got a good Jersey.

It looks fishy like that to me also.

Tom, when I was busting my case I noticed that too. Whenever the YG's deviate from the pattern, thats where the case hit is. I also noticed a box pattern as well as to where the jersey cards "might be located. I say "might", because there was 2 different patterns and if the pattern deviated as well, then there was a case hit in the box. One last thing, you will have a PM shortly re: the Clarke and Grier jerseys.

over on beckett, there is a case break by hometeam5, which further proves our point ... and a couple of other breaks with case hits also

Your theory is not always correct. In my first box I pulled a Crosby and a Triple.

But in the next box I had the same Young Guns you did and got a Gretzky Notable Numbers.

I've got 6 Crosby's and 1 was with a triple, 1 was with a Big Playmakers. The other 4 were with junk!

That may be tied for the worst set of rookies. I got George Parros, Brandon Bochenski, Brent Seabrook, Jim Howard, Jim Slater, and Jeff Hoggan. Your game used definitly beat my St. Louis, Jason Smith, and Sandis Ozolinsh jerseys lol . Congrats on the breaks. That triple is VERY nice

i am not saying that, if you get a case hit, you will not get a Crosby, but i am saying that the sequence of the rookies with the case hit, is different from the sequence of the rookies with regular 3 jerseys ..

i remember i pulled a Seabrook in one of my box, i believe you also got Steen and Parise .....

here are the pairs of best rc you will get with regular sequence (i read and saw enough breaks to do this)

steen and Parise
Phanuef and Lundqvist
Perezhogin and Richards
Crosby and Ward (ward is not a sure bet though, Campoli is)

others i forgot

i also am not saying that it is always going to happen, but you can count on it that it will happen majority of the time

I got two Crosbys in my case. All other rookies, who came as duplicates, came within the same box.
Only the second Crosby had five other Young Guns than the first one.
When I remember right, I had a notable Number from Laraque within the same Box as the first Crosby.
