I would like to watch the fights, but prior obligations will preclude me from doing so.

Should be an awesome night of fights. I'm really looking forward to most of them. Mir really did bulk up. He should get the win over Kongo, but I'm curious as to whether he will go for the submissions or try to pound him out.

Yeah, it's good to see him "in shape" at 264.5. I remember his first number of fights back, he weighed 260, but it was not muscle. I think he'll go for a sub.

Should go for the Submission. Go with your bread and butter especially when the guy is as weak on the ground as Cheick. If this fight stays standing for more then a minute, Mir is doing something horribly wrong. Once it hits the ground, if it makes it out of the first he is again doing something horribly wrong.

I don't mind Diego though, he is Bat **** crazy but he is entertaining so I hope he takes it. If he loses this division really loses a lot of interest. There is no one else that stands a chance against BJ. I've been saying for a while Diego is the only real threat to his crown.

Guida/Florian, well that will just be fun.

Yes! I'm on fire tonight... Oh wait...:|

I wish I were getting to watch this right now.
Sounds as though Frank followed through.

Round 1
Mir floors Kongo with a left hook lead. Mir pounces and locks up a guillotine. Mir tells referee Herb Dean that Kongo is out. Dean lifts the arm of Kongo to verify, and it’s confirmed. Frank Mir chokes Cheick Kongo out cold with a guillotine at 1:12 of the opening frame.

BJ just totally outclassed Diego. Joe mentioned getting Shinya Aoki from Japan. He would have no shot against BJ because he cannot take a punch. I think Eddie Alvarez may be the one guy that I think could give BJ some trouble. Other than that I think BJ can run the lightweight division as long as wants.

Can we now say BJ has cleared the division? The way he dominated Diego showed me how truly good BJ is (the way Joe and Mike uptalked him didn't hurt) and I really don't see any other legitimate contenders. The kick that ended the fight was truly hilite real even though it didn't knock him out. That cut was disgusting.

Mir/Kongo went according to the script. Not much to say.

I figured KenFlo would win his fight but I did not think he would do it so impressively. Standing Guida did not belong in the same ring, Florian looked greatly improved.

Fitch won, not much else happened. Yay?

Struve won and I fully agree with the decision. First round all Skyscraper, 2nd round all Buentello. Third round, beyind the flurry in the last minute it was all Struve for the most part. He landed a lot more and was much crisper. They both gassed but Buentello looked right out of it before catching his second wind near the end.
