I am really looking forward to the fights tonight. The main card fights that I am least looking forward to though are the co-main and main event fights. Seeing Mr. Wonderful and Gerald Harris make their PPV debuts is great, and the Sotiropoulos/Lauzon fight could turn out to be a grappling fans dream.

With regards to the main event most of the stuff that I've listened to and read has mentioned that it appears as though Quiton Jackson is likely to show up. I kind of hope that this is true because I would love to see this fool get beat up again.

It is telling, and to me proves that neither Quinton or BJ care about really training when you consider that Tiki Ghosn has been running Rampage's camp ever since he split from Juanito. And BJ actually had Troy freaking Mandaloniz serve as his head trainer for this fight. This is an absolute joke and goes to show what happens when ultra talented people don't want to work to get better. They may well win their fights tonight but they will definitely go down as two "what could have been" fighters. What could have been if they actually trained and tapped more of their natural talents.

I hope there are some quick KO's as I really want to see these three fights.

Welterweight bout: Karo Parisyan vs. Dennis Hallman
Lightweight bout: Paul Kelly vs. T.J. O'Brien
Lightweight bout: Tyson Griffin vs. Nik Lentz

Some great fights tonight and I cannot wait to watch.

Welterweight bout: Karo Parisyan vs. Dennis Hallman

Wow Karo looked bad. Even in the clinch where he is amazing he looked awful.

Gerald Harris (185) vs. Maiquel Jose Falcao Goncalves (185)

BORING. When they engaged it was fantastic and Falcao has a boat load of talent but just standing there and not engaging for the majority of the fight is not going to get him much work in the UFC.

Holy Crap BJ Penn. What a KO. I could tell before the bell rang that BJ was fired up. Watch both of BJ's fights against Edgar and BJ does not look like he even wants to be in the cage.

Rampage did not win that fight, but that wasn't even the worst decision of the night. In the first bout Tyson Griffin in the opinion of most ringside observers won all three rounds; however, two judges inexplicably gave the fight 29-28 to Nik Lentz who took the split decision. What a joke.

In other news coming out of the fights. George Sotiropoulos vs. Dennis Siver and BJ Penn vs. Jon Fitch are now on tap for UFC 127 in Australia on February 27.

I really hope Penn rocks Jon Fitch. I really don't care to see GSP outwrestle Fitch in a rematch that doesn't need to happen. Another Penn vs. St. Pierre fight could be fun though hehe.

MMA Judging is such a funny thing. Like you Eugene, I thought Machida won, albeit a 29-28 squeakout because I felt Rampage clearly won the first round. If this was PRIDE judging, Machida decisively wins the fight because Rampage eased off a bit, and Machida controlled the last part of the fight pretty clearly. I think Machida's fight was lost in the first 3 minutes, where he wouldn't engage, and Rampage was pushing the pace, which carried over into the perception that Rampage was the aggressor for most of the fight.

I'm torn between Sotiropoulous/Siver only because I really like both guys and watching them both fight. Siver is a human highlight reel, and Sotiropoulous, while often underwhelming at best, fights smart and fights sound. I don't know what is next for the winner of that fight though...I view neither as a title threat, especially if you mix in some of the top tier guys coming over from WEC, nor would either of these guys get a title shot in the next year or so until the merger picture is cleared up.

Nobody needs to watch GSP school that kid for another 25 minutes.
People have been there, ordered the PPV.

Matt, I have to disagree with you. I think that Sotiropoulos is 2 fights away from a title shot. If he beats Siver I believe that they will give him a top 10 lightweight and if he were to get through that I think that he would get his shot.

While the winner of the Henderson/Pettis fight on the 16th will set up the next number 1 contender for the winner of the Edgar/Maynard fight. After that though I do not believe that any WEC lightweight will be anywhere close to a title shot. Cerone will stick around because he puts on entertaining fights; Varner may last for a little while, but not long IMO. And the loser of the Pettis/Henderson match will be in the mix. I love the WEC, I think that hands down they put on the most entertaining cards in all of MMA but their talent at lightweight was not that deep. And I don't think that many of the WEC will thrive in the UFC.

Jai, it was only 20 mins, and Penn quit on the stool. Wouldn't it be nice to see him claim to be ready to go to the death again? :)

Thought it was 5 minute rounds... didn't they go all 5?

Penn and Koscheck are in the same boat in my mind - punks who have WAY more than they deserve. The former has found it out twice, the latter is about to find that out.

No it was after the fourth that BJ's corner threw in the towel.

I agree with you for the most part about Penn and Koscheck. I don't see third fight between GSP and BJ going any different than the second one. Just as I don't see this second GSP/Kos fight going any different than their first. GSP scoring takedowns at will and pounding on Koscheck for 25 minutes, as opposed to the 15 minute beating he took the first time.

Kos won't last 25 mins. I think St. Pierre will get the finish that he couldn't get from Dan Hardy.
