UFC 161: Evans vs. Henderson - June 15th

This card has suffered through injuries leading to cancelled fights like Calgary last year, though not nearly to that degree. There are still some very interesting fights on this main card. I'm hoping to see Alexis Davis style on Rosi Sexton. I think that her grappling acumen may make her the most serious threat to Ronda Rousey.

Was a pretty ugly main card....Big Country did not prep well or have enough prep time, he took Miocic too lightly I think. Evans-Hendo was ok...I still think Hendo won that second round and should have won the fight. I know they were hyping Davis to be a threat to Rousey but with that display she put on I see her tapping and tapping fast like all the rest. Jimmo looked impressive in his debut but has been a bit tenative since then, wasnt a great fight. Jordan-Barry went about as expected, Jordan is a Jackson product and I try to follow them as I am from New Mexico, not surprised Jordan pounced and beatdown Barry. Looking forward to UFC 162, curious to see if Weidman can shock the world and take down the GOAT.

I still think that Alexis Davis is, right now, the biggest threat to Ronda. I am interested to see her second fight to find out of this was a case of Octagon jitters, or if she has some deficiencies that may hinder her from really competing with Rousey.

If they could cut a fighter after a win Ryan Jimmo would deserve it. That was bad, it really did remind of watching some of his atrocious fights in MFC.

I thought Evans won rounds two and three, but that second round was close, and you could make a strong case either way.

The most impressive performance of the night, in my opinion, was James Krause. He came in on short notice and put on an awesome performance against Sam Stout, eventually submitting him. I have had a chance to see some of his fights and he is pretty talented. I look forward to seeing him fight again. Two weeks ago he was not under contract with the UFC, and now he is 100K richer, great to see.
